Here are 3 exercises you can do at your desk to relieve the tension:

Seated Figure-4 Stretch: Cross one ankle over your opposite knee. Sit up straight and hinge forward at your hips until you feel a stretch in your glutes. Hold for 30 seconds per side.

Seated Cat-Cow: Sit at the edge of your chair with your hands on your knees. Arch your back and look up to extend your spine, then round your back and drop your head to flex it. Repeat 10 times.

Seated Spinal Twist: Keep your feet flat on the floor. Rotate your torso toward the back of your chair, using the armrest or seat back to gently assist the rotation. Hold for 15 seconds per side.

Building a powerful, injury-free golf swing starts from the ground up—and it requires more than just hitting the driving range.
If you want your junior golfer to add yards off the tee, improve their consistency, and protect their developing spine, they need to train the specific biomechanics of rotation and stability.
Here are four foundational exercises:
1️⃣ Bulgarian Split Squats
Golf is a unilateral sport that demands massive lead-leg stability and ground-reaction force. These build the isolated quad and glute strength necessary to “post up” dynamically on the downswing without losing posture.
2️⃣ PVC Pipe Rotations
It’s all about thoracic mobility over lumbar compensation. The rigid pipe provides instant feedback, locking the upper torso into a single plane and teaching athletes how to properly separate their upper and lower body (the X-factor) without twisting their lower back.
3️⃣ Single-Leg Kettlebell RDLs
Power comes from the posterior chain. This movement trains the glutes and hamstrings to load and explode, while the uneven weight distribution forces the core to fight against rotation—building the anti-rotational strength needed to maintain spine angle at high speeds.
4️⃣ Banded Open Books
We’re taking a classic mobility stretch and making it active. The band forces the posterior shoulder muscles to work against tension, building the specific active range of motion and scapular control required for a deep, stable backswing.
Got a junior athlete looking to elevate their game? The team at Victory Rehab can help assess and optimize their movement patterns to keep them performing at their peak.

Rehabbing your low back? Let’s upgrade your routine. 🚀 GOOD vs. BETTER.

When it comes to low back pain, just "stretching it out" usually isn't enough to fix the root cause. To get out of pain and stay out of pain, we have to build stability, motor control, and strength.

Here is why we upgrade these three common rehab exercises:

1️⃣ GOOD: Pigeon Stretch ➡️ BETTER: Modified Pigeon
The standard pigeon stretch on the floor can put a ton of torque on your knee and force your lower back into extension to compensate. A modified pigeon (like a 90/90 sit or using an elevated bench) lets you actually isolate those tight glutes and hip rotators while keeping your lumbar spine neutral and your joints safe.

2️⃣ GOOD: Dynamic Hamstring Stretch ➡️ BETTER: RDLs
Stretching your hamstrings feels nice in the moment, but it doesn't build tissue resilience. Romanian Deadlifts (RDLs) take your hamstrings through a deep stretch while loading them. This builds massive strength in your posterior chain, allowing your glutes and hamstrings to do the heavy lifting so your lower back doesn't have to.

3️⃣ GOOD: Dead Bug ➡️ BETTER: Side Plank Powell Raise
Dead bugs are a fantastic starting point for basic core control. But a Side Plank Powell Raise levels this up. By holding a side plank while performing a rear delt raise, you are challenging your lateral core (obliques and QL) while simultaneously firing up your upper back. This builds incredible rotational stability, linking your lats and core together to armor-plate your spine.

Bottom line: To fix back pain for good, you eventually have to transition from passive stretching to active strengthening.

We promise, pediatric adjustments are incredibly gentle and perfectly safe! 😂 But in all seriousness, getting your child adjusted is one of the best things you can do for their rapidly developing bodies.

Kids grow incredibly fast, and their nervous systems are constantly adapting to new physical milestones, daily tumbles, and modern stressors (hello, heavy backpacks and screen time!).

Here is why pediatric chiropractic care is a game-changer for growing families:

💤 Better Sleep: A balanced nervous system helps shift kids out of "fight or flight" mode, leading to a much better night's rest for them (and you!).
🛡️ Immune System Support: The nervous system controls the immune system. Proper alignment ensures these systems are communicating efficiently so their bodies can fight off bugs naturally.
🏃 Growth & Mobility: Adjustments help relieve the tension associated with growing pains, improve posture, and keep them agile for sports, recess, and playtime.
🧠 Focus & Mood: When kids are physically comfortable and their nervous system isn't overstimulated, it can lead to improved focus, better moods, and less irritability.

Our pediatric adjustments use the lightest touch—often no more pressure than you’d use to check a tomato for ripeness. They leave feeling amazing, energized, and clearly... ready to body slam their chiropractor. 😅

Stop breathing like a panicked Victorian ghost. 👻📉

If you have a deep, nagging ache in the side of your neck, or worse—if you are getting weird tingling and numbness shooting down your arm into your hand—your scalenes might be the culprit.

These three little muscles sit on the side of your neck and attach to your top ribs. When you get stressed, sit at a desk all day, or brace poorly during a heavy lift, you stop using your diaphragm and start "chest breathing." This forces your scalenes to pull your ribs up thousands of times a day.

Eventually, they get chronically tight, inflamed, and can physically compress the brachial plexus (the massive nerve bundle running from your neck to your arm).

The quick fix? The Pin & Stretch shown in the video, plus a serious reality check on how you breathe. (Hint: Your stomach should move, not your shoulders).

The permanent fix? Coming into Victory Rehab. We use precise active release techniques on those angry scalenes, adjust the cervical and thoracic joints they are pulling on, and retrain your biomechanics so it stops happening.

Don't let three tiny neck muscles ruin your grip strength and your sanity. Hit the link in our bio to grab an assessment slot this week at our Geneva or Naperville clinic. 👇

Fix this spot = fix your headache.
If rotating your head while keeping your chin tucked felt locked up, or worse, it started to reproduce pinching or that dull ache behind your eyes - then your neck may be actively driving your pain. Pop all the painkillers you want but if you don’t fix the mechanical restrictions in the joints, that headache is coming right back tomorrow.
Stop treating the symptom and fix the cause.

🛑 Is your back pain just being dramatic, or is it an actual red flag? 🚩
Here is the TL;DR on when it’s time to stop ignoring that nagging low back pain:
1️⃣ It’s taking a road trip down your leg. 🚗 (Nerve pain is no joke!)
2️⃣ It’s been 3+ weeks. 🗓️ (Like a bad houseguest, it has officially overstayed its welcome.)
3️⃣ Sneezing, coughing, or bearing down makes you wince. 🤧 (Ouch. Definitely not normal!)
Stop hoping it'll just magically disappear! If any of these sound a little too familiar, it’s time to get it checked out.
Come see us at Victory Rehab and let’s get you moving pain-free again! Drop a 🙋‍♂️ in the comments if you’re dealing with any of these, or tag a friend who complains about their back 24/7. 👇
