Claudia has been a chiropractic maintenance patient of mine for 5 years and never missed an appointment. She went and got married on us and is a seasonal resident now as she lives up north with her husband during the summer. She returned to Florida today and we had a little welcoming ceremony. She was showing her ring off to the girls. Bling! Bling! WELCOME BACK CLAUDIA!

This patient had severe lower back pain after lifting furniture. He needed his wifes help to walk and it took us longer to get him on the table then the treatment itself. With his wife's help, he screeched in pain as we maneuvered him around on the table. To say his pain was a "10" is an understatement. He immediately felt approximately 40% better following his first treatment which included an adjustment and some therapeutic stretching. That was yesterday and he was like a new person today! We screen all our patients and immediately send them to the emergency room if we believe their pain is more than spinal malfunction. I'm so glad I didn't have to this time! So are they ;)

The top bone in the neck, the Atlas (C1) vertebra is somewhat less stable and more vulnerable to misalignment than other regions of the spine. This area is complex and rich with the nerves and blood supplies to the skull. In order to protect the muscles of the eyes, inner ear balance systems and TMJ your body is constantly adapting to keep your head level or in “horizontal gaze.” Problems arise when the Atlas (C1) vertebra is displaced out of its proper alignment. This condition causes stress and irritation to local tissues including the spinal cord, meninges and blood vessels of the upper neck. Further, Atlas (C1) misalignment forces the body to permanently contort as it tries to restore horizontal gaze. The result is “body imbalance” or a state of dysfunctional, twisted posture as the new baseline. In your own body, you may notice this posture as one shoulder or hip consistently higher than the other. Pain is often the result as dysfunction and damage build up in tissues over time.

I had the pleasure of seeing my patient of almost 5 years today, Shirley Cotton. She brought her son, Phillip who suggested (NO INSISTED) that she see a chiropractor back in 2014.
