“Why are we spending so much time working on core strength?”
Because core strength is about much more than posture or athletic ability.
Think about building a house. You can install beautiful doors and windows, but if the foundation isn’t solid, nothing functions the way it’s supposed to.
The same is true for the nervous system.
Reflex integration exercises help teach the brain new patterns. But if a child doesn’t have the core strength and postural stability to support those changes, it can be difficult for the brain to maintain them.
When we work on core strength, we’re not just strengthening muscles.
We’re helping build the foundation that supports the entire nervous system.
Sometimes the most important work doesn’t look fancy.
Sometimes it looks like sit-ups.
