October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀
DIM (diindolylmethane) is a natural compound formed from compounds found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts.
Research suggests DIM can influence how the body metabolizes estrogen, shifting estrogen metabolism toward pathways that have been studied in relation to breast health.
This may be especially relevant after menopause, when estrone becomes the predominant circulating estrogen.
But an important distinction: while DIM can influence estrogen metabolism, research has not established that DIM prevents breast cancer.
And no supplement replaces appropriate breast cancer screening. Staying up to date with your mammogram remains one of the most important steps you can take for your breast health.
At Hobdari Wellness, we can help recommend the right DIM brand and dosing for you—and make sure your mammogram is ordered and up to date.
