🦵 Where does your knee hurt?

Pain in the front, inside, outside, or back of the knee can offer useful clues—but location alone cannot provide a complete diagnosis.

Swelling, stiffness, instability, activity level, physical examination, and imaging may all play a role in determining what is causing your discomfort.

Why Does My Hip Hurt When I Sleep on My Side?

If hip pain keeps waking you up when you roll onto your side, your sleeping position may not be the only issue. Pain on the outside of the hip can sometimes be related to irritated tendons or inflammation around the joint, while pain felt deeper in the groin may point to the hip joint itself.

Try placing a pillow between your knees and avoid sleeping directly on the painful side. If the discomfort regularly interrupts your sleep or continues during the day, it may be time to have your hip evaluated.

Don’t let hip pain steal a good night’s sleep—or keep you from doing what you enjoy.

Your first rally shouldn’t be your warm-up! 🏓

Before stepping onto the pickleball court, spend five minutes preparing the muscles that support your knees and hips:

🚶 Brisk walking
↔️ Gentle side steps
🦵 Controlled leg swings
⬆️ Calf raises
🏓 Easy practice swings

A short warm-up cannot prevent every injury, but it can help your body prepare for the quick starts, stops, and pivots pickleball demands.

Save this routine for your next match—and send it to your pickleball group chat!

🏓 In Southwest Florida, pickleball isn't just a game—it's a lifestyle.

It's one of the best ways to stay active, socialize, and enjoy our beautiful weather. But all those quick pivots, sudden stops, and lunges can take a toll on your knees and hips over time.

A little soreness after a match is normal. Pain that lingers, swelling, or sitting out because your joints can't keep up isn't.

You don't have to give up the sport you love because of joint pain. Finding the cause early can help you stay active and keep doing what you enjoy most.

If pickleball is becoming more painful than fun, we're here to help.
