Today we want to feature some special technology that is used all the time in our office! This separates us from offices in the area and allows us to do more in office procedures instead of referring patients to other surgeons.
Cone-Beam Computed Tomography Systems (CBCT)
The CBCT Scanner, has the ability to take 2D and 3D x-rays. This technology allows Dr. Hoop to focus on your full mouth, as well as a specific problem that may require more in depth evaluation.
The CBCT technology allows the Dr. Hoop the ability to see more than the traditional Panoramic x-ray machine. With access to more bone structures and a wider range of motion for a more comprehensive look at the skull and jaw, we are able to diagnosis more accurately and precise.
Implants are in higher demand than ever. The advanced technology and software program, provided by CareStream, allows Dr. Hoop to not only see bone density, but also soft tissues structures such as very important nerves that line the entire jaw. With that information, Dr. Hoop is able to virtually place implants into the x-ray (shown above) and fabricate a surgical stent that will guide the placements of the implants with extreme accuracy into the bone. This technology has been able to make 9 out of 10 implant surgeries completely incisionless.
Diagnostic features of a CBCT scan:
-surgical planning for impacted teeth.
-diagnosing temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ).
-accurate placement of dental implants.
-evaluation of the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals and nasal cavity.
-detecting, measuring and treating jaw tumors.
-determining bone structure and tooth orientation.
-locating the origin of pain or pathology.
-cephalometric analysis.
-reconstructive surgery.
