If your back hurts by the 12th hole, your shoulder aches after a bucket of balls, or your hips feel tighter with every round…

The problem may not be your golf swing.

It may be your body.

Most golfers spend years chasing swing changes, lessons, and equipment upgrades while overlooking the one thing that ultimately controls the swing: mobility, stability, strength, and movement quality.

At Elevate615, TPI Certified Golf Physical Therapist Dr. Carl Haley helps golfers identify the physical limitations that are holding back performance and contributing to pain on the course.

Using the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) assessment, we evaluate:
• Golf-specific mobility
• Rotational power
• Stability and balance
• Movement control
• Body-swing connections
• Physical limitations linked to common swing faults

Whether you’re struggling with low back pain during golf, shoulder pain through your swing, hip stiffness, loss of distance, or inconsistent ball striking, understanding how your body moves may be the missing piece.

The goal isn’t just less pain.

It’s longer drives.
More consistent ball striking.
Better rotation.
More enjoyable rounds.
And the ability to walk off the 18th green feeling as good as you did on the 1st tee.

If you’re searching for Golf Physical Therapy in Franklin, Brentwood, or Cool Springs, schedule a TPI Golf Assessment with Dr. Carl Haley and discover what’s really holding your game back.

You may not need another lesson.

You may need a better understanding of how your body moves.

One of my favorite things to hear is:

“I’ve already tried physical therapy at “big box physiotherapy.”

Because that usually means I have an opportunity to completely change how someone views their body, their injury, and their ability to recover.

Far too many people in Franklin and Brentwood have only experienced the “assembly line” version of physical therapy. They were bounced between providers, handed a sheet of exercises, spent 10 minutes with their therapist, and left wondering why they weren’t getting better.

When they finally walk through our doors, they’re often frustrated, discouraged, and convinced that physical therapy just doesn’t work.

The truth is they haven’t experienced physical therapy the way it was meant to be delivered.

At Elevate615, every visit is one full hour, one-on-one, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

No double booking.

No technicians.

No rushed treatment plans.

No being passed from person to person.

Instead, you get:
• A thorough evaluation that looks beyond symptoms
• Hands-on manual therapy when appropriate
• Dry needling and Class IV LightForce Laser therapy
• Strength and movement coaching
• Exercise progressions tailored to your goals
• Ongoing reassessment and plan adjustments
• A therapist who listens and adapts to what you need

Most importantly, we don’t stop when your pain is gone.

We help you get back to the activities that make life worth living—golf, running, lifting, pickleball, CrossFit, hiking, chasing your kids, and everything in between.

If you’ve been told to “just keep stretching,” “give it time,” or you’ve left previous PT wondering why nothing changed, give us a chance.

You may not need more treatment.

You may simply need a different kind of physical therapy.

Banded side steps and monster walks look simple… until your glutes start burning 🔥

These exercises are great for:
✅ Improving hip stability
✅ Activating the glutes before workouts
✅ Supporting better knee alignment
✅ Enhancing balance and movement control
✅ Reducing compensation through the low back

A stronger foundation at the hips can improve movement quality during lifting, walking, running, and daily activity.

Tips:
➡️ Stay low and controlled
➡️ Keep tension on the band the entire time
➡️ Don’t let your knees cave inward
➡️ Focus on quality over speed

Sometimes the “small” exercises create the biggest long-term benefits.

Station 3 of our Hyrox series- Back Pain Prevention During the HYROX Sled Pull 🚨

If your low back lights up during the sled pull, it’s usually NOT because the sled is “too heavy.” It’s because your spine is doing the job your core, glutes, and lats should be doing.

The HYROX sled pull punishes poor positioning — especially once fatigue kicks in. Common mistakes include excessive lumbar rounding, leaning too far back, and pulling with the arms instead of driving through the hips and core.

✅ Keys to protecting your back during sled pull:

• Brace your core BEFORE every pull
• Keep a neutral spine — chest tall, ribs down
• Use your lats + legs, not just your arms
• Maintain tension on the rope (avoid jerky yanks)
• Take short controlled steps backward
• Think “row the sled” instead of “curl the sled”
• Let your bodyweight work FOR you — don’t excessively lean back

A good cue:
👉 “Pull from the hips, stabilize through the core.”

Exercises that help:
✔️ Dead bugs with resistance
✔️ Bird dogs
✔️ Cat Camel or Cat Cow
✔️ Side plank rotations
✔️ Sled pull technique work under fatigue

Remember:
Efficiency beats aggression in HYROX. Smooth, controlled pulls save your back AND your race time.
