CONDITIONER- What it the Science Behind the Ingredients... Part 1
SEA KELP (LAMINARIA ANGUSTATA)
A mineral-rich seaweed extract that helps defend against breakage while nourishing the scalp with trace elements.
Trace minerals are quietly one of my favorite topics.
Zinc, selenium, iodine, silica — these are exactly the nutrients that run low in people experiencing hair loss, and exactly the one not regularly checked.
The systemic conversation is a bigger issue, but feeding the scalp directly is a reasonable place to start.
BASIL
Yes, the herb. And it's here for a specific reason.
Basil is a scalp antioxidant that helps neutralize oxidative stress — a known contributor to follicle damage — while supporting thickening and volume.
Oxidative stress is essentially cellular wear and tear.
Your follicle cells divide faster than almost any cells in your body, which means they generate more of it than most tissue does.
Fast-dividing cells need more antioxidant protection.
That's not a wellness slogan, it's just cell biology.
GREEN TEA EXTRACT
The active compound is EGCG, one of the better-studied antioxidants in the literature.
There's emerging evidence for supporting thicker-appearing follicles and adding visible volume along the hair shaft.
