Dana Christen Austin

Dana Christen Austin passed at home surrounded by her family on September 4th, 2026. Born on June 24th, 1995, in Colombus, Mississippi, Dana led a life characterized by her love and compassion for others.

Dana is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Paul (Roberta) Artis, Charles (Jean) Austin, and her adopted Grandfather, Zubair Siddiqi. She rejoins her beloved sister, Jessica Austin. As well as her Uncle Arif Siddiqi, who adored playing with her.

She will be dearly missed by her parents Paula Austin and Leni Siddiqi, who survive her. As well as her Aunt, Tabatha Siddiqi, and many loved family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caretaker, Shelia Stiles and Harris Hillman High school's staff for being Dana's other family.

To many, Dana was a shining star. With a personality that drew the attention, and affection, of all, she lived a life surrounded by community. At school, Dana often wandered the halls in search of a new adventure. She stumbled upon friends... and teachers who always politely guided her back to the correct classroom. Her connection with everyone she met led her to be elected as the prom queen, and then the Valentine's Day queen. A title incredibly fitting for a girl as sweet as Dana.

There was never a moment Dana spent alone - as, even in the presence of strangers, she found a way to become their friend. When going on outings with her parents, they watched as everyone seemed to know her. Whether the server, an old friend, or classmate. It almost distracted her from eating, but Dana could never resist a milkshake when it was presented to her, or the straw that came with it.

Along with her social life, Dana kept many hobbies. She loved to swim with her mom, Paula, and go on the swing set whenever possible. Dana spent her evenings listening to classical music or Michael Bublé. She also kept a music toy with her room, which seemed to play constantly.

Dana was a true friend to her community. There are so many people who were in her life that the family would like to thank, who touched Dana's life and offered their love, but it is impossible to list them all.

Deana Lynn Claiborne Dodds

Deana Lynn Bush Claiborne Dodds, age 70, resident of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at ALIVE Hospice of Nashville, Tennessee. Deana was born on November 7, 1955 in Waverly, Tennessee, to the late Euell Dean Bush and the late Mary Jean (Merideth) Bush.

Deana was a loving wife of thirty-four years to her husband, Ed Dodds. She affectionately cared for her parents as they struggled through the challenges of aging. She had a close relationship with her two younger brothers and their wives. She adored her two nieces and three nephews and her five great nieces and one great nephew. She thoroughly enjoyed extended family gatherings, and researching the family history and genealogy. As a child she rescued a menagerie of orphaned and injured animals and her love for animals led her later in life to adopt many precious pets as part of her family.

She graduated from Waverly Central High School, in Waverly, Tennessee in 1973. She later received a B.A. in Communications, English, and Education from Freed-Hardeman University, in Henderson, Tennessee and a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology / Education from Auburn University, in Montgomery , Alabama.

Deana’s professional service to her community spanned over 40 years. She was a Development Officer for Faulkner University, of Montgomery, AL (four years). She served as the Executive Director for five different organizations: Exchange Club/Carl Perkins Child Abuse Prevention Center, Jackson, TN (two years); Exchange Club Family Centers, Nashville, TN (six years); Exchange Club Center for Prevention of Child Abuse, Memphis, TN (one year); Nashville Humane Assoc., Nashville, TN (one year); and United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee, Nashville, TN (thirty-three years). She loved her employees at UCPMT. On August 10, 2026, Deana was presented with the Music Row Ladies Golf Tournament’s Director’s Appreciation Award for her many years of dedicated service to The United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee.

Also, Deana’s drive to serve her community was evident in her service and leadership in a variety of organizations. She was a founding board member of Parents Anonymous of Tennessee, currently known as Child Abuse Prevention of Tennessee (seven years). She served as Chair with the Victims of Crime Advisory Committee to the Tennessee Department of Human Services (three years). She chaired the Standards Committee for Licensure Tennessee Child Abuse Protection Agencies (nine years). She served on Vanderbilt University’s Institutional Review Board (eight years). Deana served on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Childcare Resource Centers (three years). She also served on the Board of Directors for CABLE (professional organization for women for eighteen years). She served as an officer on the Steering Committee for the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Disabilities, and the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Special Education (two terms). She served as President, Treasurer, and Newsletter Editor for the River Plantation Section II Homeowners Association (four terms). Deana was on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Statewide Independent Living Centers (four years). She was the 2005 Nashville Athena Awards Event Chair and continuing committee member from 1998 – 2008. She was a member of the League of Women Voters from 1997 – 2018 and served as a past President of both the Nashville and Tennessee Chapters. She was also a founding member of the Tennessee Alliance on Disability Policy in 2002 and remained a member until 2018.

Deana found great joy in using her many creative talents, to enrich the lives of those she loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome memorial contributions in Deana Dodds’ name to United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee, 1200 9th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37208.

Visitation will be held at the West Harpeth Funeral Home and Crematory (6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37209) on Thursday, October 1 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Marable Cemetery in Waverly, Tennessee, at 2 p.m..

Alvin William Schumacher

Alvin William Schumacher, born on June 1, 1948, passed away on August 14, 2026, in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee.

Alvin was born in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and grew up in Eagle, Colorado. Following high school, he proudly served four years in the United States Navy. While living in California, he met Lois, who would become the love of his life. They later married and shared many wonderful years together. After Lois passed away in 1996, Alvin never remarried, remaining devoted to her memory throughout the rest of his life.

Alvin and Lois later moved to Oklahoma, where Alvin worked for Ditch Witch in Edmond. They eventually relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where he continued his career with the company. In 1995, Alvin joined Wirtgen America, where he worked until his retirement in 2022.

Alvin's quick wit, sense of humor, and willingness to help endeared him to everyone who knew him. He was highly respected by both colleagues and customers and became known as the "go-to guy" for answers and solutions. His knowledge, professionalism, and friendly nature left a lasting impression on many people throughout his career.

One of Alvin's greatest passions was bass fishing. He fished whenever and wherever he had the opportunity. He was an active member of several fishing clubs and participated in numerous tournaments, earning many trophies and cash prizes over the years. Fishing brought him tremendous joy and created many cherished memories with friends and fellow anglers.

Alvin touched the hearts and lives of countless people. His kindness, humor, and steadfast character will be deeply missed. He will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Schumacher.

He is survived by his sisters, Karen Jo Schumacher, Mary Ann Nelson, and Linda Lane; his daughter by marriage, B.J. Allgood (Del Allgood); his grandsons, Marshall Huddleston (Megan Huddleston) and Glenn Huddleston (Kandi Huddleston); and nine great-grandchildren.

Celebration of Life Service will be September 11th, 2026, 10 a.m. at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetary, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN 37221.

Dorian Robert Gray

Dorian Robert Gray, age 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 15, 2026.

Dorian was born in Warren, PA on January 21, 1935, to the late Ralph Lee Gray and Genevieve Porter Gray. He was a graduate of Warren High School, class of 1953.

Following high school, Dorian enlisted in the Army on June 9, 1955, and spent most of his time in Fort Hood, TX, as a tank mechanic. He rose to the rank of Sergeant in a very short time. He was transferred to the Army Reserves on June 7, 1957, and honorably discharged from service on May 31, 1963.

Dorian married his one and only lifelong love, Donna Hewitt, on October 11, 1958. Following his transfer to the Army Reserves, Dorian attended Alfred University in Alfred, NY. There he earned a BS degree in Ceramic Engineering, graduating on June 19, 1964.

After graduation, Dorian was hired by the Ford Motor Company as a ceramic engineer and moved his family to Dearborn, MI. He was later transferred to the Ford Glass Plant in Nashville, TN, where he was part of the Technical Group responsible for glass formulation and production. During his 32-year tenure, he accrued three patents and many accolades for his development of low-emissivity (low-e) glass at Ford. He retired from Ford in 1996.

Dorian was a beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather. He was also a lifelong learner. He loved working on automobiles and attended and graduated from the Nashville Auto Diesel College while also being employed full time at Ford. He loved reading, working jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and being with his grandchildren.

Dorian and his wife Donna were avid members of Cheekwood Botanical Gardens and the Daylily Society of Nashville. He spent his retirement volunteering for these and many other organizations as well as cultivating and growing daylilies at his home in West Nashville, where he and Donna lived for more than 40 years.

Dorian was a strong Christian and was very active at Woodmont Baptist Church, taking care of the plants and flowers there with his wife Donna. He also completed a mission trip to Sierra Leone, Africa to build a church building for that community to help spread God’s word. His legacy of love, generosity and integrity will last for years to come.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Louise Hewitt Gray, his daughter Brenda Lee Gray, and his son Daren Robert Gray in addition to 13 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Heidi Lynn Gray Breeding of Lebanon, TN, his grandson Colton Gray Breeding (Claire) of Nashville, TN, and his granddaughter Katie McKenzie Breeding of Lebanon, TN as well as nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN, where Dorian was a long-time contributor.

Linda Alice Corlew Collier

Linda Alice Corlew Collier, age 84 was born on August 7, 1942, in Camden, TN. She passed away August 12, 2026 in Dickson TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Red and Idola Corlew, and her husband James (Jimmy) Larry Collier.

Linda leaves behind two sons, James Robert (Robby) Collier and wife, Gail, and Daniel Allen Collier (Anna). She was preceded in death by two daughter-in-laws, Kay Collier (Robby) and Janet Collier (Danny). They gave momma one of her greatest treasures, her precious grandchildren. Kayla Collier, Bailey Collier (Robby & Kay) , Cameron Collier, Kacie Collier (Danny & Janet), a loving great-grandmother to Jocelyn and Joshua Collier. She also leaves behind three brothers and a brother-in-law: Bobby and Janice Corlew , Terry and Dawn Corlew, Steve and Linda Corlew and her brother-in-law, Jerry and Sandy Collier, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Linda dedicated her career to the billing department at St. Thomas West in Nashville. She dearly loved spending time with her friends and family. Above all, the thing Linda loved the most was her deep and personal relationship with Jesus.

She was a devoted member of Charlotte Road, Baptist Church, in Nashville, TN. Visitation and Service will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Old Paths Bible Baptist Church in Lyles, TN. The service will begin at 10:00 AM. After the service, Linda will be transported to the Gibson County Memorial Gardens in Milan, TN, for a small graveside service and will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Jimmy.

Her warmth, kindness, and faith touched everyone who knew her. Linda’s legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Donna Lee Longuevan

Donna “Nanny” Lee Longuevan (Duffel), age 82, of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 6, 2026.

Born and raised in West Nashville, Donna enjoyed her youth with her two siblings, Terry and Kathy, in Sylvan Park and graduated in 1962 from Cohn High School where she participated in choir.

In 1965, Donna married the love of her life, David Keith Longuevan I, and the two were able to together make their dreams of a large family a reality. In addition to family, Donna committed many years of employment to Vanderbilt University before ultimately retiring as a supervisor in her mid 60s. She proudly wore her Vanderbilt jacket well after retirement and enjoyed being a loyal supporter.

David loved Donna and drove her all over town until his last breath in 2013. Despite losing her soulmate, Donna was able to find happiness and peace in cooking, watching lifetime movies, and most of all her family. She enjoyed taking care of and spending every possible moment with her 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Her family was the most important thing to her and she unconditionally loved, supported, and guided them with her wisdom until her last breath.

She leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, strength, love, perseverance, and most of all, family. She touched many with her kindness, hospitality, and mentality that all were welcome.

She was preceded in death by husband, David Keith Longuevan I (“Black Papa”); mother, Ella “Jane” Campbell (Joy); father, Edward Duffel Jr.; brother, Terry Harris; and son, David Keith Longuevan II (Nicole). She is survived by sister, Kathy Johnson (Terry); children, Tonia Longuevan, Tish Ballard (Sean), Trish Brown, Kayla Lloyd (JC), and Gary Potts; grandchildren, Heaven Lee Anhalt, Lance Brown, Cross Ballard, and David Keith Longuevan III (“Deke”); great-grandchildren Autumn Lloyd, Meadow Lloyd, Brynlee Brown, Sage Hardin, and Bliss Cillo, as well as many other loved family and friends.

While we are happy she is reunited with her husband in Heaven and no longer suffering here on Earth, she will be dearly missed by all of those who knew her.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 20th, 2026, at 4 - 8 p.m. and Monday, August 24th, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at West Harpeth Funeral Home in West Nashville. Service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, August 24th, 2026 at West Harpeth Funeral Home in West Nashville. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Middle Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery on McCrory Lane.

Linda Jane West, age 81 of Nashville TN, passed away on Monday July 27, 2026. She is preceded by her Daughter Sandy Callis and survived by her sons, Ray West (Andrea), Michael West, Ryan West (April), and their father Charles West Sr., Grandsons, Kenneth Callis, Christopher Callis, Charles West III, Granddaughters, Alicia Callis, Katherine West, Caroline West, Great Grandsons, Alex Burr, Nathan Callis, Tyler Callis, Kason Callis, Great Granddaughters, Chloe Key, Great Great Grandsons, Nate Jr. Callis, Chase Callis, Grayson Burr, Great Great Granddaughters, Imogene Burr, family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
