Let me guess.. the newness of back-to-school is starting to wear off?
This is often when we start hearing from parents: “Her teacher says she can’t sit still.”
“He’s having huge reactions over little things.”
“She knows what she’s supposed to do.. so why isn’t she doing it?”
“He’s struggling with transitions more than everyone else.”
It’s easy to look at these things and see a behavior or discipline problem.
This month specifically, we want to challenge you to look at things a little bit differently. Because behavior doesn’t happen in isolation. Focus, emotions, impulse control, sensory processing, and adaptability all involve the brain and nervous system.
So instead of only asking, “How do we stop this behavior?” What if we also asked, “Why is my child’s brain responding this way?”
Behavior starts with the brain.🧠
