Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and there’s plenty to learn at the annual TVHS Safety Fair.

Join Veterans and staff from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 28 on the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center quad for safety education, hands-on activities and resources from TVHS teams and community organizations.

Learn about fire safety, emergency preparedness, weather safety, transportation safety and more. Hands-on fire extinguisher training will also be available.

Plus, Cedar Valley Kitchen Food Truck and Southern Scoops Ice Cream Truck will be on site.

Service in the National Guard and access to VA health care can go hand-in-hand.

Approximately 110 Tennessee Guardsmen participated in this year’s Smash ‘N’ Bash event hosted by the Tennessee National Guard. The event brought solders face-to-face with organizations aimed at supporting their health, career, education, and families. VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System joined the event to help eligible service members currently serving in the Guard better understand and access VA health care and mental health resources available throughout the region.

For VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare, supporting service members mean supporting them at every stage of their journey, including those who are still wearing the uniform. Guard members with qualifying service documented by a DD-214 may be eligible for VA health care – even while they continue to serve. Enrollment takes just 15 minutes: https://bit.ly/3VsziW7
