Faith communities, be part of the solution. 💜

This International Overdose Awareness Day, we’re inviting churches and faith-based organizations across Tennessee to come alongside their neighbors impacted by substance use, mental health challenges, and overdose.

You don’t have to be a behavioral health professional to make a difference. Through the Tennessee Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services’ Faith-Based Initiatives, faith communities can access free trainings, education, resources, and connections to treatment and recovery services.

As we remember those lost to overdose and work to reduce stigma, let’s create communities where people feel seen, supported, and connected to help.

Faith leaders and community groups: Will you join us in supporting your neighbors?

Not all overdoses are fatal. 💜

For every fatal overdose, there are approximately 10 non-fatal overdoses. Anyone can experience an overdose—including first-time and occasional users—but overdoses don’t have to be fatal.

Prevention starts with education, tools, and facts. This International Overdose Awareness Day, let’s challenge stigma, increase awareness, and make sure our communities know that support and resources are available.

Learn. Share. Support. Help save a life.

It takes all of us. 🦬💜🦬

On August 31, International Overdose Awareness Day, communities across Tennessee are coming together to remember those we’ve lost, support those impacted, and raise awareness about overdose prevention.

🎉 Celebrating our Hope for the Healers Scholarship Recipients! 🎉

Please join us in congratulating the three rising second-year MFT students who have been selected as recipients of the Hope for the Healers Scholarship! 💜

This donor-funded scholarship helps support students as they continue their journey toward becoming compassionate and skilled marriage and family therapists—professionals who will serve and strengthen the mental health of their communities.

We are incredibly grateful to the generous donors who make this scholarship possible and invest in the next generation of counseling professionals.

Congratulations to our three recipients! We’re so proud of you and excited to see the impact you will make. 🥳👏

Our MFT Cohort 15 got “Booked & Mugged” Tuesday night! 👀📚☕

As part of their orientation dinner, each new student was paired with a mentor from the cohort above them. Their mentors welcomed them to the program with a special “Booked & Mugged” gift bag—complete with books (including a copy of the DSM!) and a coffee tumbler to keep those late-night study sessions caffeinated. 😉

Thank you for choosing Lipscomb and for allowing us to be part of your educational journey. We’re excited to support, encourage, and learn alongside you throughout the years ahead!

Help us give Cohort 15 a warm welcome in the comments! 💜

Reminder to the Counselor: Not Every Session Will Feel Clear
Some sessions feel messy, unclear, or unfinished.
That doesn’t mean they weren’t meaningful. Sitting in the unknown with a client can be part of the work—not a failure of it.
