One of the hardest truths about helping someone you love is this:
Sometimes support doesn't look like stepping in.
Sometimes support looks like stepping back.
This week we've talked about taking action, regaining control, and living intentionally. The same principle applies to recovery.
When we constantly rescue someone from consequences, solve their problems, or take ownership of their responsibilities, we may unintentionally prevent the very growth we're hoping to see.
Real healing begins when individuals have the opportunity to take ownership of their choices, their recovery, and their future.
Supporting someone doesn't mean carrying their burden for them.
It means encouraging them as they learn to carry it themselves.
Growth happens when responsibility and accountability meet support and compassion.
