Starting over can feel exciting… and scary. 😮‍💨

Especially when everyone around you seems like they already have their people, their routine, their confidence, and their life figured out.

But starting over doesn’t mean you’re behind.

College can bring homesickness.

Making friends can feel awkward.

The academic pressure can be REAL.

You’re figuring out who you are while also learning how to be independent.

That’s a lot of change at once.

So if you’re starting college, transferring, returning after a break, or simply entering a new chapter this year give yourself permission to be new at something.

You don’t have to have it all figured out on day one. 🤎
Now tell me honestly:

what has felt HARDEST about starting over this year?

I want to hear the part people don’t always talk about. 👀👇🏾

✨ WE’RE GROWING! ✨

New faces. New specialties. Same heart. 🤎

NEW Counseling PLLC is excited to welcome the newest members of our team! As our practice continues to grow, so does our ability to show up for more people, more families, and more of the community.

Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing our newest clinicians, sharing their specialties, and giving you a chance to get to know the people behind the work. 👋🏽

Because at NEW Counseling, we believe therapy is not about being a “perfect” person with a “perfect” life.
It is about real people helping real people with real problems.
And honestly? That is exactly what we are building here. ❤️

Today, we are celebrating our newest team members and this next chapter for NEW Counseling. We cannot wait for you to meet them!

Help us welcome them in the comments! 👇🏽

What is one thing you would want to know about a new therapist before your first session?

Stay tuned… 👀 We have a lot more introductions coming!

Sometimes, the person everyone checks on last is the one carrying the most.

Motherhood can bring joy, love, and connection while also bringing identity shifts, exhaustion, emotional changes, and the need for more support. 💜

This Mindset Monday, check in with the mom, too. Ask her how she is doing not just how the baby is doing.

Mama, you deserve support, rest, and space to be cared for, too. 🌿

Being busy doesn’t always mean you’re okay. 💭

Sometimes the difference between being busy, overwhelmed, and burned out is recognizing when your capacity has been stretched too far.

This Pop Culture Wednesday, let’s normalize checking in with ourselves—and giving our minds permission to pause, reset, and ask for support.

Which one sounds most like you right now: busy, overwhelmed, or burned out?

Back-to-school anxiety doesn’t always look like first-day jitters. 💭
New routines, friendships, academic pressure, and transitions can bring big feelings for kids. This Mindset Monday, let’s pay attention to the signs—and create space for children to feel supported, heard, and understood. 💛
What’s one sign your child might need a little extra support this school year?

✨ FeelBetterFriday | Create a Transition Routine ✨

Life is full of transitions
waking up, leaving work, coming home, starting a new season, or adjusting to unexpected change. Our nervous system doesn’t always switch gears as quickly as our schedule does.

Creating intentional transition routines can help reduce stress, increase emotional regulation, and give your mind and body a chance to reset.

Try incorporating one (or more) of these into your day:

🌅 Morning reset
🌙 Evening wind-down
🗓️ Visual schedules
📖 Journaling
🌬️ Deep breathing

Small, consistent rituals remind your brain that you’re safe and help create a sense of stability even when life feels unpredictable.

💬 Which transition routine helps you feel the most grounded?

Save this post for later and share it with someone who could use a gentle reset today. 💚

Ever wonder why you keep rewatching the same TV shows?

It might not be because you’ve run out of things to watch—it could be your nervous system asking for predictability.

When life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or emotionally heavy, familiar stories give our brains something they can anticipate. We already know the ending, the characters feel safe, and our minds don’t have to stay on high alert.

For many people, rewatching favorite shows becomes a form of self-soothing during:
✨ Anxiety
✨ Depression
✨ Burnout
✨ Major life transitions
✨ Periods of grief or uncertainty

Comfort doesn’t always look like meditation or journaling. Sometimes it looks like pressing “Play” on an episode you’ve seen twenty times.

The things we naturally find comfort in often tell us something important about what we need emotionally. Instead of judging those patterns, get curious about them.

What is your nervous system trying to protect or restore?

💬 What’s one show you always come back to when life feels like a lot?
