This common condition occurs when water becomes trapped in the ear canal, creating an environment where bacteria can grow. Symptoms may include ear pain, itching, redness, or drainage. Summer schedules can make it easy to stay up later than usual, but getting enough sleep remains important for overall health and well-being. Consistent sleep supports mood, concentration, immune function, and daytime energy levels. Whether you're adjusting to summer activities, travel, or a new routine, knowing when to go to bed can help you get the recommended amount of sleep. Use the American Academy of Sleep Medicine's Bedtime Calculator to find a bedtime that works best for you.

The Bedtime Calculator is based on the sleep duration recommendations of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine for children and adults.

Summer activities, travel, changes in routine, and dehydration can all contribute to more frequent or severe migraine attacks. Staying hydrated, maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, and taking time to rest can help reduce common migraine triggers during the warmer months. Planning ahead for vacations and outdoor activities may also help individuals better manage symptoms and avoid disruptions to summer plans. Learn more in the American Migraine Foundation's "Managing Migraine in the Summer" guide attached below.

Sun exposure can occur during everyday activities, not just at the pool or beach, making year-round protection important. Applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen and reapplying as directed can help protect skin health over time. Small preventive habits today can make a significant difference in the future. See the infographic below for an important reminder about the benefits of daily sunscreen use.
