NCTP.

It’s a mouthful.

So we got creative.

We’ve heard some pretty creative interpretations over the years… and added a few of our own.

We’ve definitely missed a few.

What’s your best NCTP?

Happy Pride, Nashville. 🌈

Awareness is an important part of advocating for change and these eating disorder statistics help us create more of that.

History doesn't stay in history. It shapes families, communities, identities, and the stories people carry with them.

Juneteenth marks the day freedom finally reached enslaved people in Texas more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

As therapists, we're reminded every day that our collective history continues to influence the present in ways both seen and unseen.

Today, we honor the resilience, contributions, and enduring legacy of Black Americans while reflecting on the importance of freedom, dignity, and belonging.

Happy Juneteenth.

A few breakfast casseroles, plenty of coffee, lots of conversation, a handful of kids, and one unfortunate orange juice incident.

One of the things we value most at NCTP is community—not just within our walls, but among the people who spend so much of their lives caring for others. Taking time to connect, laugh, share a meal, and simply be together matters.

Grateful for this team and the unique strengths, perspectives, and personalities each person brings.

(And special thanks to those who took one for the team in the orange juice splash zone.)

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel vulnerable, overwhelming, or even a little intimidating. My hope as your therapist is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgment, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out. I believe meaningful healing happens when we feel safe enough to be honest about our experiences and supported enough to explore them at our own pace.

As an immigrant and bilingual clinician who provides therapy in English and Portuguese, I deeply value cultural humility and the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. I believe each person’s story deserves to be understood within the context of their relationships, culture, values, and lived experiences.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional and behavioral difficulties, self-esteem concerns, and other challenges that can impact daily life and well-being. My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, and I strive to meet each client where they are while adapting our work to fit their unique needs, strengths, and goals. Together, we can explore patterns that may no longer be serving you, develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges, and work toward greater self-awareness, healing, and connection.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy going to the gym, hiking, trying new restaurants, cooking, reading, thrifting, and spending time with my partner, close friends and family.

We would love to see you this Friday June 5th at 7pm for our upcoming monthly mental health open mic and trivia night. This event is free, open to everyone, and a great way to engage in expression.

This month's trivia theme is dispelling social media myths about our mental health.

NCTP is a secular, inclusive, and affirming space. All feelings are welcome here. We request that you share honestly, with regard for others.

Reminder that there is no open mic in July due to the holiday weekend.

Please help us welcome Nora to NCTP!

Nora is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern with a passion for trauma-informed, affirming, and person-centered care. They are especially interested in supporting survivors of trauma, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and women navigating health and life transitions.

Their approach integrates evidence-based practices with creativity, collaboration, and a deep respect for each client’s lived experience. We’re excited to have them as part of the NCTP community and look forward to the care and compassion they’ll bring to clients.

Therapy progress doesn’t always feel good while it’s happening.

Sometimes growth looks like:
• noticing patterns you used to avoid
• feeling emotions more fully
• setting uncomfortable boundaries
• realizing how exhausted you’ve actually been

Healing isn’t always linear, neat, or immediately relieving.

Sometimes “this feels hard” is actually part of meaningful change.
