Landy Ray Campbell

Landy Ray Campbell, age 79, of Kingston Springs was welcomed into the arms of Jesus in his home surrounded by loved ones on the morning of August 3rd, 2026 after a long & courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Landy was born on November 15th, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, the third son of the late Cecil Joseph Campbell and Sadie Marie Felts Campbell. He grew up in Nashville and attended West End High School. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Cecil J. Campbell and Rex Campbell.

Landy worked for 38 years as a Systems Analyst for the State of Tennessee. He took great pride in his work, providing for his family, always extending his compassion & generosity towards his family, his church & those in need.

Outside of work, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, traveling, NASCAR, Sunday family dinners & annual traditions of traveling to the beach & the mountains with his family.

To his family, he was lovingly known as ‘Dad’ & ‘Papa’. Providing for his family was his greatest joy, and there was nothing more important to him than spending time with the people he loved. Landy is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Beth Anne (Ramsay) Campbell; his children, Kellie (Campbell) Maxin & her husband Chris; sons Ronnie Campbell & Keith Campbell; His granddaughters Brenna (Campbell) Sledge & her husband, Jeremy & Anna Maxin; his 3 great grandchildren: Ethan, Nikolai & Caitlyn Sledge; his brother, Roger Campbell (Terry); and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members & his grandog, Lucky. His devoted care for his special needs son, Keith, was one of the greatest reflections of his loving & selfless heart.

Visitation with family will be on Tuesday, August 11th at 11:30am at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with service to follow at 1:30pm.

Martha Jean Duke

Martha Jean Wild Duke passed away on July 30th, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who loved her deeply.Those who knew her will remember her as a beautiful woman with a vibrant personality. She loved being around people and was always ready to have a good time. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a playful streak that kept her family and friends laughing. She could be a little mischievous, a quality that added to her charm, and her fun-loving spirit made her a joy to be around. John Anthony Harrison, Jr.

John Anthony Harrison, Jr., age 41, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

Known to all as Bubba, he was born April 05, 1985, to John and Becky Harrison. He was a 2005 graduate of Fairview High School.

Bubba will be remembered by his smiles, infectious laughter, and blue eyes. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with family, enjoying food, and listening to Christmas music. Bubba’s personality brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered, and his passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his grandmother Pauline, his parents John and Becky, sisters Dawn (Michael) and Mary (Caleb), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by grandparents Bobby Harrison and Jack & Helen Adams.

William Thomas Coward, III

William Thomas Coward, III, affectionately known as "Bill," was born on February 3, 1944, in Harriman, Tennessee, to the late William Thomas Coward, Jr. and Louise Gardner Coward. He entered into eternal rest on July 20, 2026, in Dickson, Tennessee, at the age of 82.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved son, Derrick Coward, and his sister, Donna Harper.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Paulette Coward; his son, Dr. Wayne (Towanna) Coward; his stepson, Jason Pitts; his sister, Nancy Bridges; his grandchildren, Connor (Jaxon) Lucas, Carson Coward, Mason Pitts, and Macie (Austin) Lehman; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Allie Lehman, Emma Lehman, Eli Lehman, and Waylon Pitts, along with many extended family members, friends, and former students who were blessed by his life.

Bill had a lifelong passion for music, especially the trumpet, and dedicated his career to sharing that passion as a high school band director. He taught generations of students with patience, kindness, understanding, and genuine love, leaving a lasting impact that extended far beyond the classroom. He remained in touch with many of his former students throughout the years, a testament to the meaningful relationships he built.

Outside of music, Bill found great joy in spending time with his family, playing golf, hunting, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army, a service he held in high regard. Among his many accomplishments, Bill was especially honored to be inducted into the Middle Tennessee State University Band of Blue Hall of Fame, recognizing his outstanding contributions to music education.

Bill's life was one of service, dedication, and compassion. His love for his family, his students, his country, and his music will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be fondly remembered, deeply loved, and sorely missed by all whose lives he touched.

Barry Lyndell Vaughn

Barry Lyndell Vaughn passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 76 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born September 6, 1949, to the late Clifford Kelly Vaughn and the late Francis Geneva Hay Vaughn. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his stepfather William Yeargin as well as his siblings Clifford “Sonny” Vaughn, Brenda Byrum and Shirley Tweedy.

Barry attended Hume Fogg High School in Nashville. Barry spent his career working as a maintenance supervisor with The Coca-Cola Company.

He is survived by his son Christopher Ryan Vaughn who was his entire world. In addition to his loving son, he is also survived by many family and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and friends at Harmony of Bellevue for the excellent care that they provided to Barry.

The family plans to have a private remembrance at a later date. He will be greatly missed.

Harold Eugene "Gene" Cunningham Sr.

Harold Eugene "Gene" Cunningham, Sr., 94, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026 in Nashville, TN under the care of Alive Hospice after a short illness.

Gene was born in Nashville, TN to the late Lacy and Delia Cunningham on January 21, 1932. He graduated from Central High School, Nashville, TN. After high school, he went on to serve in the United States Army where he was stationed in Panama. Upon leaving the service, he attended George Peabody College, Nashville, TN, and then went to work in the automotive industry for Ford Motor Company until retirement. Outside of work, Gene was passionate about all things golf, and lived life with a club in his hand and a smile on his face that was made even brighter after having made 3 holes-in-one in his lifetime. He was a charter member of Temple Hills Country Club and a long-time member of Capital City Golf Association holding many leadership roles, including President. He will also be remembered for his kindness, witty sense of humor, and excellent dance skills. Above all, as a devoted follower of Christ, it was his love for his family, and his church that truly held the most meaning. He cherished his membership with Bellevue Church of Christ.

Surviving family members include his children Monte Cunningham, Donna Cunningham Altshuler (John), Arnold “Arnie” Cunningham, and Troy Cunningham (Nancy); grandchildren Caitlin Cunningham, Kellee Cunningham Lopez (Sear), Harold E. “Trey” Cunningham, III, Chloe Cunningham Kaspar (Kevin), Phoebe Cunningham, Grant Altshuler (Aubrey), Sofia and Ava Cunningham; 6 great-grandchildren with a 7th due in August. He is also survived by his brother Ernest “Sonny” Cunningham (Judy), sister Linda Cunningham Thornton, and sister-in-law Claudette Cunningham; 4 nieces and numerous cousins. Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Wilma, whom he lovingly cared for and remained devoted to through every season of life. He is also preceded in death by his parents; his son, Harold E. “Hal” Cunningham, Jr., Hal's wife Summer Cunningham; and brother James Cunningham. Family will receive visitors on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10:00 am with services to follow at 11:00 am at Bellevue Church of Christ, 7401 Highway 70 S, Nashville, TN 37221. Interment will be held directly afterwards at the Jenkins Family Cemetery, Jenkins Cemetery Road, Bon Aqua, TN.

Kevin Walter Jones

In Loving Memory of Kevin Walter Jones

Kevin, age 36, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 24, 1990, in Montclair, CA, Kevin brought lasting joy to everyone who truly knew him.

Though Kevin faced many unique challenges, his life was defined by love and by the people and things that brought him peace and happiness. Kevin had a beautiful spirit, a memorable smile, and a special way of connecting with the world. He loved watching his favorite TV shows and reading his Disney books from his favorite chair, and he delighted in walks outside and adventures to Walmart for groceries and ice cream. Kevin had a rare gift for finding joy in the simple moments in life that others so often overlooked. Kevin’s life was a beautiful gift that left a lasting impact on his family, and we take comfort in knowing that he is now fully healed, whole and resting peacefully in the arms of his Heavenly Father, free from all earthly constraints.

Kevin is survived by his devoted parents, Susan and Phil; his brother, Brian (Alicia) and a nephew (Cameron) and niece (Harper). He is also survived by a large extended family including aunts – Beverly Burman and Sarah Tornes (Mark), uncles - Richard Weser (Joan), Mike Weser (Donna), Cliff Weser (Sandy Schutz) and Paul Jones (Cheryl) and numerous cousins. Kevin also leaves behind a dedicated community of caregivers (Ariel), who became an extended part of his family providing him with caring support.

Homer Turner Brim

Homer Turner Brim, age 64, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026. He was born on February 11, 1962, to William Turner Brim and Vera Mai Brim in Nashville, Tennessee.

He will be remembered for his love for God, his family, and Tennessee Football and his kind generous spirit. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his early years. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren.

Homer is survived by his children Heather Loper (Matt Loper) and Christopher Brim (Jessica Brim) and his grandchildren Knox Brim, Nash Brim, Matthew Loper, Wesley Loper, and Issac Loper. He is also survived by his loving sister Emma Biggs, his nephew Johnny Biggs, his great nephews Evan and Briar Biggs and niece Connie Martin (Brittany and Ryan Martin).

Clyde Herbert Brainard

Clyde Herbert Brainard, age 87, of Columbia, Tennessee, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 20, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born on November 25, 1938, in Flint, Michigan, Clyde was the son of Herbert and Leona Brainard. He spent his childhood in Michigan, where he learned the values that would define his life: hard work, honesty, humility, and faithfulness.

In December 1955, Clyde enlisted in the United States Navy, faithfully serving his country until June 1969. During those years, he and his beloved wife built their first home together while stationed in Rhode Island, Virginia, California, and Wisconsin. His military career ended with a medical retirement following a severe ankle injury.

On August 16, 1958, Clyde married Ilene Pearl Kinsel, the love of his life. Together they shared nearly sixty-eight years of devoted marriage, raising their family and building a home wherever God led them. Following his military service, they lived in various locations around the country where Clyde served in the church-planting ministry. In 1982, they moved to Texas, then spent a few years in Washington, before settling in Tennessee in 1993, where they spent the remainder of their years together.

Clyde graduated from Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan and was ordained to the ministry in 1975. He faithfully pastored four churches before returning to his trade as a journeyman machinist. Gifted with both his hands and his mind, he became known for mastering virtually every machine in the shop and later learned computer-aided machine design. Whether in the pulpit, the machine shop, or among friends and neighbors, he approached every task with excellence, humility, and quiet dedication.

More than anything else, Clyde will be remembered for the man he was.

He was kind without seeking recognition, generous without expecting repayment, compassionate toward those who were hurting, and patient with those searching for answers. His steady presence brought peace to his family and confidence to those who depended on him. He loved deeply, served quietly, and remained faithful through every season of life. Those who knew him best found in him a rare combination of strength and gentleness.

Clyde's faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life. It began with a simple childhood prayer around the family dinner table and grew into a lifelong trust in the goodness and sovereignty of God. He loved reading the Scriptures, especially Psalm 103, and found great comfort in its promises of forgiveness, mercy, steadfast love, and redemption. His favorite hymn, And Can It Be by Charles Wesley, beautifully expressed the gratitude he carried in his heart for the grace of God.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ilene Pearl Brainard; his children, Mark (Jewell) Brainard and Lisa (Curtis) Crumb; fourteen cherished grandchildren: twenty-nine precious great-grandchildren; his sister Jenny (Paul) Gridley, and many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by his quiet example.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Leona Brainard; his brothers, Clarence and Duane Brainard; his sister, Marilyn; his beloved daughter, Karen Hendry; and his precious great-granddaughter, Aly Privette.

Clyde often believed that a faithful life was a man's greatest accomplishment. Those who knew him would say he accomplished exactly that. He loved God, loved his wife, loved his family, served others faithfully, and finished his race with the same quiet confidence that marked every day of his life.

While his family mourns his absence, they rejoice that his faith has become sight and that he now rests in the presence of the Savior whom he loved and trusted throughout his life.

Funeral services will be held at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home on July 29, 2026. Visitation at 9:00, service at 10:00 and Graveside at 11:00 am.
