Abe’s Garden Community is establishing a replicable model for senior life that is focused on brain health, wellness and purposeful living. In separate spaces, we provide residential options for those who want to live independently, those who need supportive assisted living and those with memory loss who require special care. In addition to residential services, we offer in home care and engagement services (Abe’s Garden at Home), as well as a small group support and socialization program for those in the earliest stages of dementia (Abe’s Garden Community Group) and an onsite engagement day program for those in mid stages of dementia who are living at home (Abe’s Garden Club). We also have additional support services and resources which may be helpful. Our Abe’s Garden Memory Support Center of Excellence was developed to set new standards for quality dementia care by studying, implementing, and sharing best practices across activities of daily living, design and engagement. We’ve expanded these learnings to offer different approaches of evidence-based brain health and wellness engagement opportunities to everyone we serve across all cognitive ability and service levels. This means all our Independent and Assisted Living residents, and anyone participating in our programs, benefit from some of the most innovative wellness initiatives and brain health programs in the country.

💃 What if dance could help us reconnect?

This week's Dementia Arts Spotlight features Dance for All by Judy Given and Abe's Garden Community.

Designed for seniors of all abilities, including people living with dementia, the program uses accessible dance and movement to create opportunities for connection, self-expression, joy, and community.

From ballet and tap to salsa, Hawaiian, Indian, and more, Dance for All celebrates the idea that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of movement.

✨ Judy has even seen participants who were initially withdrawn begin responding to the music and joining in.

What an incredible day we had celebrating the Grand Opening of The Club at Abe’s Garden in Columbia! This milestone marks an exciting new chapter in our mission to support older adults and their families throughout Middle Tennessee.

This year’s $3,179 donation will support Thistle Farms’ mission to help women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction heal and thrive through safe housing, healthcare, counseling, job readiness training, meaningful employment, and a lifelong community of support.
