Substance use is often only part of the story.

In this episode of Conversations with Cumberland Heights, Jason Silletto shares how counselors help clients uncover the deeper issues connected to addiction, including trauma, anxiety, adverse childhood experiences, and other co-occurring mental health challenges.

“People don’t always realize they’re coping with anxiety by drinking… or carrying trauma they’ve never processed.”

Jason offers an honest look at what happens in treatment, why stabilization matters, and how recovery begins when people finally have space to understand what’s underneath the substance use.
