A throwback to my talk at South Texas College.
Did you know the meaning behind the name, Blue Origin?

For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of becoming a doctor and traveling to space.

The path to both was filled with setbacks, detours, and moments when it would have been easier to give up. ‘A Heart for Space’ is the story of that journey, and the lessons I learned along the way about resilience, purpose, and pursuing the impossible.

I can't wait for you to read it!

On days when progress feels slow or invisible, remember that small, steady actions are often what create real momentum, and ultimately lead to achieving your goals.

Keep showing up, keep putting in the work. It adds up in ways you don’t always see right away.

One conversation made me realize that the lessons, setbacks, habits, and perspectives that shaped my journey might be helpful to others trying to build a meaningful path of their own.

That realization eventually became my book, ‘A Heart for Space: An Astronaut’s Guide to Achieving the Impossible’

If you’ve ever felt uncertain about your next step, struggled through setbacks, or wondered whether consistent effort truly matters, this book was written for you.

I had the privilege of attending the Inspiration4 Training Center Grand Opening at Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center (Huntsville, AL) with my son. The ceremony included a video outlining the inception of the new center and how it is moving Space Camp from the Shuttle Era to the future, including moon missions and beyond. We also heard from NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman and the donors, who shared why they felt it’s important to support Space Camp.

After the ceremonies we had the opportunity to try out the new simulators including jumping in altered gravity, sky diving simulations, a climbing course that builds on team work, and more. I got to ‘hang out’ with Andrew Parris! Included in the donors were friends from The Inspired 24, Moon DAO, Dr. Gretchen Green, and others.

The Jahangir Family sponsored the Hydration Stations - i.e. water fountains. So if you are at Space Camp and need water… check them out, take a photo and tag me - I’d love to see it!

One of my favorite parts of this conversation with Inspiration4 astronaut Chris Sembroski was talking about Space Camp and how experiences like that can shape the dreams we carry.

Had the privilege to give the keynote for the Torchlight Summit. The weekend consisted of giving biologic samples as part of the follow up to the Space Omics study that looks at changes in biological factors, and specifically gene expression with space flight and other extreme environments. Also caught up with other astronaut colleagues who shared great insight regarding their spaceflight - Sian Proctor, Victor Hespana, Rob Ferl, Hayley Arceneaux, Chris Mason & Chris Sembroski

What are your thoughts on Space Omics?
