Meet Zacrey!

Zacrey Sanders serves as Executive Vice President at Into Action Recovery, bringing both professional expertise and lived experience to his leadership.

Zacrey began his career in recovery as a Recovery Advocate shortly after starting his own journey in sobriety. His passion and dedication led him to advance through roles as Lead Recovery Advocate and Operations Manager before being promoted to Executive Vice President in 2024.

His work is deeply rooted in a desire to give back to the facility that helped save his life and to support others through the same kind of understanding and connection that once helped him.

“Just because you can buy it at a gas station doesn’t mean it’s safe.”

In this powerful interview on WLW News Radio in Cincinnati, Shane Leonard, co-founder and CEO of Into Action Recovery, discusses the growing dangers of kratom-derived products like 7-OH, often referred to as “gas station heroin.”

As these substances become easier to buy in convenience stores, v**e shops, and smoke shops across the country, many people assume they must be relatively harmless. But according to Shane, that assumption is leading more individuals into serious addiction and increasingly difficult detox experiences.

Recovery doesn’t happen alone.

Our lead RA, Richard Sweitzer, created a 5k fundraiser event for The Wheelhouse – a free residential facility for men.

We’ve been able to raise thousands of dollars for them along with continued support through fundraisers like the 5k!

This program has even helped some of our own staff members find healing and is very close to our hearts. Richard himself has gone through this program, inspiring the creation of the 5k.

“Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s safe.”

In this eye-opening interview on WERC News Radio, Shane Leonard, co-founder and CEO of Into Action Recovery, discusses the growing concern surrounding kratom-derived products and so-called “gas station heroin.”

As products like 7-OH become more common in convenience stores and smoke shops across the country, many families are left wondering how dangerous these substances really are and why they’re still so easy to buy.

Drawing from his experience working directly with people battling addiction, Shane explains that many of these products are far from harmless. While kratom itself comes from a Southeast Asian plant, many of the products being sold today are heavily processed, chemically altered, or mixed with other substances that can create serious health risks.
