Graveside services for Louie Cecil Netherland, 93, of Ferriday, LA will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez, MS on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 10AM with Bro. Houston "Sonny" Travis, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Louie was born on Thursday, August 24, 1933 in Lake St. John, LA and passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026 in Jackson, LA. Louie was a faithful, loving, and honorable man who proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a hardworking man who believed in family, loyalty, and making the most of every day.

Louie loved his family deeply and treasured the time he spent with the people he loved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors, but some of his greatest adventures came while riding his motorcycle. He traveled countless miles, making memories along the way, with journeys taking him to Alaska, Nova Scotia, and all four provinces of Canada. One unforgettable adventure was seeing the beautiful icebergs in Newfoundland.

Louie was a commercial fisherman for many years before later working for General Gas, now known as Herring Gas. He took pride in his work and in providing for his family. Louie leaves behind a lifetime of stories, adventures, laughter, and love. His family will forever cherish the memories they made with him. He was truly one of a kind, and his absence will be deeply felt. Louie will be loved, remembered, and missed every day.

He is reunited with his wife, Ethel Rae Jackson Netherland; daughter, Mary Jo Netherland; parents, James "Will" William Netherland and Lillie Elizabeth Dannehl Netherland; siblings, Douglas Netherland, Dorothy Chandler, and Wilburn Netherland; and other close family.

Those left to cherish Louie's memories are his nephews, Karl "Bubba" Netherland & his wife Christi and Barney Chandler & his wife Shirley; step-daughter, Nina Carrol Nezat; sister, Earlene Netherland Moore; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Those honoring Louie as pallbearers are Payten Netherland-Roberts, Kenneth Netherland-Roberts, Shad Roberts, James Nezat, Mitchell Nezat, Gregory Nezat, and Riley Nezat.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darrel Fairchild, John Dysart, Brandon Fletcher, Barney Chandler, II, and Jimmy Jones Bowlin.

Funeral services for James "Jimmy" Watson Higgins, 74, of Vidalia, LA will be held at Vidalia First Baptist Church at 10 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2026 with Bro. Brad Watson and Bro. Jim Higgins officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church on Friday, September 4, 2026 from 5 PM until 7 PM.

Jimmy was born on Friday, November 30, 1951 in Wisner, LA, and passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at his home in Vidalia surrounded by his family. Jimmy lived a life defined by hard work, quiet service, and determination. He began working in the grocery business at only eight years old, learning the value of responsibility early and steadily working his way up. As a young man, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home, Jimmy resumed the work he knew best and built a lifelong career in the grocery business. When he was not working, he could usually be found outdoors. He loved hunting deer and turkeys, fishing, and pursuing nearly anything that could be hunted. More than his accomplishments, Jimmy will be remembered as a dependable helper who served his family and friends. He rarely sought recognition or spoke about what he had done; he simply saw a need and helped. That quiet generosity reflected the good man he truly was.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Higgins, parents, Watson Higgins and Louise Holmes, sister, Margaret Kenney, in-laws, Johnnie and Essie Donald, his brother-in-law, Gerard Donald, and special friend, Joey Guillory.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Pam D. Higgins of Vidalia, LA; children, Jim Higgins, Miranda Thibodeaux and her husband, Ryan, Natalie Higgins; grandchildren, Micah and Luke Higgins, Addi and Grace Ann Higgins, Phoenix and Nate Higgins, Carson, Conner, and Kinsey Joy Thibodeaux; special little ones, Parker, Landry, and Sutton Allen, and a host of nieces, nephews family and friends.The family would like to give a special thanks to their church family and friends for being there for them. Helping, supporting, and praying for them during this time. Also, the caregivers, Natalie Higgins, Teddi Jones, LaTonya Parker, Jessica Russell, Cedrick Dunbar, those from Enhabit Hospice, Penny Crane, Ashton Wilson, JoLynn Zuccaro, Kellye Maynard, Dana Carroll, and Abby Taylor.

Those honoring Jimmy as Pallbearers will be Micah Higgins, Luke Higgins, Nate Higgins, Carson Thibodeaux, Conner Thibodeaux, and Glen Donald.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Todd Welch, Zach Cothern, Keri Lambert, Gerard "Rod" Donald II, Bailey Long, Ronnie Gardner, Glen Harrigill, Jamie Lawrence, Gloria Lloyd, Randy Lloyd, Don and Loretta Blankenstein, Bill Ezell, The Loy family, Delmer, Tim, Barry, Jeff and all the employees at The Markets, Joel and Matt Kay and all the employees at Kays, and his best buddies, Charles Moffett and Mike Berry.

Jayden Isaiah Green,15, of Natchez, passed away on August 11, 2026. Jayden, affectionately known as "Jay", was born July 7, 2011, in Natchez, to Aly Ellis and Devon C. Green.

Jayden enjoyed basketball and playing video games and will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Visitation services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 3:00-5:00 P.M. and on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until the service time. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel, with Philip Watts officiating under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jayden was preceded in death by his grandmother, Belinda Shere Phillips, and his great-grandmothers, Jane Clark and Margaret Green.
