❤️ A full-circle moment!

A client at the Women’s Resource Center has attended all three of the LSU AgCenter’s nutrition classes offered—starting with Nutrition During Pregnancy, then Nutrition for Infants & Toddlers, and now, after welcoming her sweet baby, she joined us for Budget Bites!

It has been so special to see her at each stage—from preparing for her baby, to learning about feeding her little one, and now learning how to make healthy meals stretch on a budget. ❤️

Definitely a full-circle moment and one of those things that makes nutrition education so meaningful.

So thankful for the Women’s Resource Center and the opportunity to work with these wonderful moms and families! And that sweet baby sure did steal the show! 🥰👶

So much to be thankful for in this post! 💙 We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community and the many people who continue to give and serve.

A special thank you to the Natchitoches Library’s NE Branch Ladies’ Group for donating an abundance of diapers to the Women’s Resource Center in Natchitoches. What a wonderful blessing!

We’re also so thankful for the DeSoto Ladies’ Pickleball League for their generous monetary donation and for donating a breast pump to help support new moms. 💕

And a big thank you to our Natchitoches intern, Travis, for lending an extra hand and helping us get everything loaded and delivered! We couldn’t do it without the support of our amazing community partners and volunteers. 🫶

When we work together, we can make a difference! 💙

Special thanks to North Sabine Fire Department for bringing Fire Safety Awareness to Sabine Summer Pals! 🧯🚒
I reached out to Chief Nick Spann of NSFD to join us at the schools and help teach students about fire safety—especially kitchen fire safety—and they truly went above and beyond. Not only did Captain Haden Ezernack provide an engaging and informative lesson, but he also conducted a live grease fire demonstration that really captured the students’ attention. 🧯
He even brought the department’s search and rescue drone and recorded each demonstration while the kids watched in real time, making the experience even more exciting and memorable.🚒
It was a fun and impactful day for everyone involved, and we are so grateful for this partnership. We look forward to many more future programs with the North Sabine Fire Department!🧯🚒🧯🚒

What a fun month of learning with the Sabine Parish Summer PALS!🎉
LSU AgCenter’s Nutrition and Community Health (NCH) Agent, Erin Stockton, Sabine Parish 4-H Agent, Julia Campbell, Jr. Leader, Lexie Jones, and North Sabine Fire Department partnered with the Summer PALS Program to provide hands-on nutrition education and fire safety at Many Elementary School, Many Junior High School, Ebarb High School, and Pleasant Hill High School!

Students learned valuable life skills, including:
🧼 Proper handwashing and how germs spread
🔪 Kitchen and knife safety
📖 How to read a recipe
🥄 How to measure ingredients accurately
🍎 MyPlate nutrition guidelines
🚒 Fire safety in the kitchen

To top it all off, each student created their own delicious fruit and yogurt parfait while putting their new skills into practice!

A huge thank you to the amazing Summer PALS staff at each school for welcoming us, and a very special thank you to Tenna Cook for all of her help in making this partnership a success.

We look forward to collaborating even more during the upcoming school year to help build healthy habits that last a lifetime! 💜💛
