❤️Happy Solstice 🌻😎
🌞 **Happy Summer Solstice** 🌞
This Sunday, June 21st, the Sun climbs to its highest point in our sky and gifts us the longest day of the year. The word *solstice* comes from the Latin *sol* (sun) and *sistere* (to stand still). For a brief, sacred moment, the Sun appears to pause in the heavens before beginning its slow journey back toward winter.
✨An ancient celebration✨
Our ancestors marked this day for thousands of years. In ancient Egypt, the solstice heralded the rising of Sirius, the brightest star, which signaled the life giving flood of the Nile and the start of their new year. At Giza, the monuments were built so precisely that, viewed from the Sphinx, the Sun sets squarely between the two great pyramids. In ancient Greece it began the calendar year and the one month countdown to the Olympic Games, alongside the festival of Kronia honoring Cronus, god of agriculture. The Romans kept Vestalia in honor of Vesta, goddess of the hearth, while across Northern and Central Europe, Celtic, Germanic, and Slavic peoples lit great bonfires to boost the Sun's strength and bless the coming harvest. And of course Stonehenge still stands, its ancient stones aligned to frame the solstice sunrise, drawing crowds to this day. 🔥

🕯️ Light a candle or a small fire and speak aloud what you wish to call into your life.
💧 Set out a jar of water (or your crystals) in the sunlight to charge with solar energy.
📜 Write down what has grown in you since spring, and what you are ready to release.
🙏 Pause to give thanks for the abundance already in your life.
