🚨 Canadian wildfire smoke is affecting air quality across parts of the U.S. Midwest and Northeast.

If you have COPD or another chronic lung disease, even short-term exposure to smoke can make breathing more difficult and trigger symptoms.

If smoke is affecting your area:
-Stay indoors when possible.
-If you must go outside, consider wearing an N95 respirator.
-Keep indoor air as clean as you can by closing windows and using air filtration if available.
-Check your local air quality before heading outdoors.

A recent study led by NIH-supported researchers found that participants in a structured mindfulness-based intervention program showed modest but clinically meaningful improvements in cardiovascular health.

The intervention targeted hypertension-related behaviors and focused on targeting diet, physical activity, medication adherence, alcohol use, and stress. The study was funded by NIH’s National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health.
