What Are Cash Advance Items?

When planning a funeral, you may hear the term "cash advance items."

Cash advance items are listed separately from the funeral home's services and merchandise on the family invoice, helping provide transparency and a clear understanding of all costs involved.

At Kessler Fahrenkrug Funeral Home, we coordinate these details for you, allowing you to focus on what matters most—honoring your loved one and spending time with family.

If you have questions about funeral costs or planning options, we're here to help.

Grief Doesn’t Follow a Timeline

One of the most common misconceptions about grief is that it should “resolve” within a certain amount of time. In truth, grief has no set timeline.

Some days may feel lighter and more manageable, even hopeful. Other days may feel just as heavy as the beginning. Anniversaries, holidays, and unexpected reminders can bring emotions rushing back when we least expect them.

Healing does not mean forgetting or “moving on.” It means learning to carry the loss while continuing to live and grow around it. Every person’s grief journey is unique, and it deserves patience, compassion, and respect.
