That's a wrap on our 9-year anniversary week! Thank you to every client who came in this week, entered a drawing, or simply sent us a kind word of celebration. This practice exists because of the trust our community has placed in us, and that doesn't go unnoticed.

This week is National Health Center Week, recognizing the community health centers across the country that provide essential, often sliding-scale care to underserved populations. These centers are frequently the first, and sometimes only, point of access to mental health care for people who would otherwise go without it.

We want to take a moment to honor the providers doing this work, often with limited resources and high demand. Access to mental health care should never be a privilege reserved for those who can afford it. If you know of a community health center doing great work near you, tag them below.

Anniversary week is still going, and this part is for our clients!

All week, we're running client appreciation moments at both our Neenah and Kenosha offices - small giveaways, a prize drawing, and a few surprises if you're in the office for an appointment. This is our way of saying thank you for being part of the community that's allowed us to grow over the last nine years. 🌟

Today is a big one! 🎉 Nine years ago, Lisa Anderson opened the doors of A Healing Place with a simple belief: that mental health deserves the same care, attention, and respect as physical health. Nine years later, that belief has grown into two offices, a team of incredible therapists and staff, and thousands of client stories we feel honored to have been part of.

Today is also Lisa's own work anniversary, since she's the one who started all of this in the first place! Happy Anniversary to our fearless leader. 💜

We're celebrating all week long with client appreciation, a few fun surprises, and a whole lot of gratitude. Thank you for nine years of trusting us with your care. Here's to many more!

Drop a 🎂 or 🥳 in the comments to celebrate with us!

New blog is officially live: 'Summer Rest Without the Guilt Trip.' We dig into why rest feels so hard to justify, what productivity culture gets wrong, and how to actually let yourself recharge this season. Give it a read, and then give yourself permission to do absolutely nothing for a little while.

It's the middle of summer, the season that's supposed to be relaxing, and yet so many of us are terrible at actually resting. We plan vacations and then check email anyway. We get a free Saturday and fill it with errands because an empty calendar feels uncomfortable. We lie down to nap and immediate

In the wake of yesterday’s storm, A Healing Place is opening our Neenah office as a community resource.

325 N. Commercial Street, Neenah, WI 54956
Monday through Thursday, 8am to 7pm, Friday 8am to 2pm.

If you’ve been affected by the tornado and need a place to land, our lobby is open. Come in to charge your phone or laptop, sit somewhere calm and quiet, or simply take a moment to regroup. No appointment needed. Just stop by and check in at the front desk.

We also currently have counselors with availability. If you’d like to speak with someone, we may be able to offer a same-day or next-day appointment, in person or via Telehealth, based on therapist availability.

If your insurance is not accepted by our practice, please don’t let that stop you from reaching out. We may have pro bono appointments available based on therapist availability.

You don’t have to be okay right now. We’re here.

Our hearts are with the Menasha, Appleton, and Neenah communities today. This afternoon’s tornado caused real damage to neighborhoods many of us call home, and we know that the hours and days after something like this can bring up a lot: shock, fear, grief over what was lost, anxiety about what comes next. All of that is a normal response to something genuinely frightening and disruptive.

If you’re safe and sheltering tonight, please know that the emotional weight of this is just as real as the physical damage.

For those who need immediate shelter: Christ the Rock Community Church (W6254 US Hwy 10/114) and the Elks Lodge (328 Nicolet Blvd) are open in Menasha. Bring medication, your phone, and anything important.

Our Neenah office is monitoring the situation closely. We’ll share updates on our status as soon as we have them. In the meantime, we’re here.

Self-Care Saturday, simple version: drink some water. It sounds almost too basic to post about, but dehydration is sneakily linked to fatigue, irritability, headaches, and brain fog, all things that can masquerade as or worsen anxiety and low mood.

If you've been feeling off and can't quite place why, check in on the basics first: water, food, sleep, movement.

Sometimes the most therapeutic thing you can do today is genuinely unglamorous. Drink the water. Eat the meal. Go to bed a little earlier. Your mental health is built on these fundamentals just as much as the bigger stuff.

Feel-Good Friday: summer has a way of flying by. Before it slips past, take thirty seconds to notice something good about this exact season. Maybe it's the long daylight hours. Maybe it's a particular meal, a song that's been on repeat, a friend you reconnected with.

Gratitude doesn't need a holiday to count. It just needs your attention. What's one small good thing about your summer so far?
