✨ Yogananda shows us how to overcome maya and find Self‑realization through pranayama:

💨 Withdrawing our energy from duality in Ida and Pingala to enter the Sushumna, and awakening Kundalini at the base of the spine.

🌟 And by the grace of God and Gurus, to allow all the energy to rise to the brain, freeing the soul from bo***ge to the body.

“Why, O mind, wanderest thou?
Go in thine inner home!
On the left, Ida;
On the right, Pingala;
In the middle, the taintless Sushumna.
Seize Her with all thy might!
Guru‑given power, by pranayama wake,
Wake Her with all thy might!”

✨ Have you ever wondered why we always practice a pose on both sides in Ananda Yoga, then pause in a neutral pose? Yes, it is about balance—not only physically, but energetically. 🧘

Yoga teaches us to neutralize the opposites of duality: where there is up, there is down; when we go left, we return to the right, always back to our center. 🧭

🌊From an emotional perspective, emotions are energy in motion—a high is always followed by a low. In Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, he reminds us: “Yogas chitta vritti nirodh”—the goal of yoga is to calm the emotions by neutralizing our reactive processes. 🕊️

Spiritually, depending on where we are in our growth, one person may need to go left, another to the right, to return to center and balance. Ananda Yoga helps us tune into these energy flows, guiding us to master our energy and ourselves. 🌸

🙏 Join us for October’s series of online classes on Fridays: Balancing Our Emotions, 8:00–9:15am Pacific Time. First class is free! 🔗Link is in bio

The Bhagavad Gita teaches: true freedom comes through yagya — offering everything back to God. 🌸

Attachment is the only chain that binds us. As Yogananda said, “Without it, you’ll be free.”

Habits keep us holding on, but the Gita gives us the keys to break them — revealing that joy depends on nothing outside the Self.

🙏 If you’re seeking a way to embody the Gita’s wisdom through Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings, join Nayaswami Gyandev & Nayaswami Diksha for the next online course.

📖 The Bhagavad Gita’s wisdom is not meant merely to be read, but to be applied in ways that uplift our lives. ✨ It offers us attitudes, qualities, right action, meditation practices, and the techniques of Kriya Yoga to overcome the delusion of separateness and invite God into every aspect of life—not only in meditation, but also in our work, our health, and our relationships.

🙏 In Paramhansa Yogananda’s interpretations of the Gita, he reminds us that self‑realization is not reserved for yogis meditating in Himalayan caves, but is available to anyone with the sincere desire to know God. 🌿 Whatever challenges we face, the Gita provides a step‑by‑step path to transcend the ego and draw closer to God right where we stand.

💫 Krishna counsels that the path to self‑realization lies in bringing God into the very place He has put us. No matter our environment, status, or challenges, when we choose the soul over the ego—when the mind is centered in God—Heaven is present here and now, within our consciousness.

🌞 Arjuna’s life shows us that the way to self‑realization is through becoming a perfect disciple. When we choose God and Guru over worldly attachments—even over a materially grand army—victory is inevitable, for as the scriptures remind us: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God.”

🕉️ The inner battle must be fought between ego and soul, and true victory comes when we choose God over our habits and desires. 🌺

The Bhagavad Gita is an allegory of the inner psychological battle between the ego and the soul that we all have within us every day. ⚔️🌞

The infamous battle of Kurukshetra represents the competing forces of light and darkness in the human mind. Who we are each moment depends on the degree of light or darkness present in our consciousness. 🌟🌚

Thankfully the scripture also offers us techniques to help us conquer the negative tendencies in us and grow spiritually in order to find God in this life. Yogananda said that we should all strive to become Jivan Muktas in this life and emerge victorious following the example of Arjuna by choosing Krishna. ✌️🌟

🕊️ Satya — Non‑lying in Meditation

In Patanjali’s 8‑fold path, non‑lying is not just refraining from telling lies. It is the subtle sense of perfect self‑honesty — seeing ourselves as the ever‑perfect and free soul, ridding ourselves of our delusions, our limitations, and our attachment to the body and personality.

In The Art and Science of Raja Yoga, Swami Kriyananda shared: “Truthfulness is the necessary attitude for us if we would overcome our own false notions about life. Our path to God is entirely a matter of ridding ourselves of our delusions.”

👉🏼 Swipe through this carousel to understand how to practice non‑lying in meditation, and discover the freedom of seeing yourself as Spirit. 🌿✨

The Bhagavad gita is more than ancient wisdom — it’s an allegory for the battle of life. ⚔️ Each character represents a quality within us: Arjuna, the devotee; Krishna, the guru.

When Arjuna resists fighting his evil relatives, it mirrors our own reluctance to confront our negative tendencies. They feel so bound to our identity that breaking them seems like losing a part of ourselves.

But Krishna teaches: these tendencies are only patterns of energy. When we fight and dissolve them, we don’t destroy energy — we free it. That liberated energy flows upward, strengthening us, carrying us closer to God. 🌿🕊️

This is the true victory: not against others, but against the patterns of energy that keep us bound and contractive.
