Happy first day of fall!!!

There is a certain wisdom in fall and I am here for it

The trees don’t fight the changing season

They don’t try to hold onto every leaf simply because it once belonged to them

They let go

Not because the leaves weren’t beautiful. #

Not because they failed

Not because there wasn’t more they could have done

Simply because it was time

I think there is something here for us, too

We spend so much of our lives trying to maintain what once worked. Holding onto routines, identities, expectations, versions of ourselves, and even dreams because they once felt right.

But sometimes wellness isn’t about adding something new.

Sometimes it’s recognizing what no longer needs to be carried.

Fall reminds us that change isn’t always a loss

Sometimes letting go is how we make room for what comes next

So maybe this season isn’t asking you to become more

Maybe it’s asking you to notice what you’re ready to release.

A little less holding.
A little less rushing.
A little more listening.

There is wisdom in the season we’re in 🤍🤍

What are you most excited for with this season change?👇🏽

Just a few gentle reminders for your Monday as you ease into the week:

Let the exhale be a little longer than the inhale
Allow your tongue to rest heavy
Soften your shoulders
Unclench your jaw
Notice where you’re holding tension and see if you can release even 5%

These small cues can help shift your body away from unnecessary tension and support the parasympathetic side of the autonomic nervous system. A slower, longer exhale can influence breathing patterns and heart-rate variability, while relaxing the jaw, tongue, and shoulders reduces some of the physical bracing we often carry without realizing it.

Nothing complicated, Nothing perfect

Just little moments throughout the day to remind your body that it doesn’t have to stay “on” all the time

Take a breath. Soften. Keep going.

Legs up the wall + a few slow breaths.

I’ve been talking a lot about the vagus nerve lately, and I think it’s important to keep this really simple. A yoga pose/ shape isn’t going to magically “reset” your nervous system. But slow, intentional breathing can influence the autonomic nervous system and increase vagally mediated HRV.

So sometimes regulation really is just… stopping for a minute.

No perfect meditation. No quiet house (obviously 😂) Just getting still, breathing a little slower, and giving your body a chance to come down a notch.

And sometimes your little humans join you.

That counts too.

This may be one of the biggest misconceptions about stress and regulation: people think they need to “calm down.”

But the nervous system doesn’t respond well to force, and even though the research is still evolving, it’s pretty clear … We cannot shame, hustle, or pressure ourselves into genuine regulation.

Instead, the body responds to repeated cues of safety:

• slower breathing
• supportive relationships
• adequate rest
• nourishment
• movement
• sunlight
• mindfulness
• predictable rhythms

This is why nervous system work is rarely about one dramatic intervention

It’s usually about small, repeated experiences that help the body feel supported over time

Save this as a reminder to check in with your body today 🤍

A little throwback to three years ago…

I was leading yoga, holding space, and giving massages right up until 39 weeks pregnant… with twins

It’s their birth month, and somehow three years have already passed. It’s hard not to feel a little nostalgic for that season of life.

There was something really special about showing up as I was, carrying two babies, and continuing to show up for the humans who trusted me with their own bodies and stories.

And maybe that’s the part of that season I want to remember most:

You should never have to become someone else before you walk into a wellness space.

Come as you are.
Take what you need.
Modify when you feel led to
Rest when you desire
Challenge yourself when you want to.
And leave feeling successful, not because you did everything perfectly, but because you listened to yourself

I hope everyone gets to experience a space where they feel safe enough to do exactly that

Three years later, I’m still incredibly grateful for the humans who allowed me to hold space for them during that chapter.

And I’m especially grateful that, somehow, while I was holding space and serving so many others, I was also growing two incredible little humans who would completely change mine.

Three years. How is that even possible?

Notice where you’re holding tension, and see if the body is willing to soften….

One of the first things we begin noticing in yoga is how much tension we carry unconsciously.

Jaw.
Shoulders.
Hands.
Pelvic floor.
Forehead.
Breath.

Many people are living with chronic muscle guarding and nervous system activation without even realizing it.

The body adapts to stress by preparing for protection:
tightening, bracing, clenching, rushing.

And over time, that state can start to feel “normal.”

Research continues to show that chronic stress impacts both the nervous system and physical body, influencing everything from sleep and digestion to pain, inflammation, and emotional regulation.

Sometimes regulation begins with something incredibly small: awareness.

Not forcing relaxation
Not performing calmness.
Just noticing

I’m passionate about nervous system regulation, and I love sharing evidence-informed education and practical tools around nervous system support, stress physiology, and regulation in everyday life.

We’ve normalized living in a constant state of stimulation:

• notifications
• rushing
• multitasking
• stress
• emotional overload
• poor sleep
• constant output

The body was never designed to sustain chronic survival mode indefinitely.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more about nervous system health, stress physiology, and evidence-informed practices that may support regulation, resilience, and recovery in everyday life.

Not from a place of perfection… Just from a desire to live a little more grounded and a little less depleted.

Happy International Day of Yoga & Summer Solstice, friends!!!

Today we honor the light.

The light of the sun, the light within ourselves, and the quiet ways we continue to grow even in seasons that look different than before.

Today is a perfect opportunity to slow down and reconnect with what matters most. To step outside, feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, take a deep breath, and remember that growth does not have to be complicated. Sometimes it begins with simply being present.

This season has looked different for BlueMoon Holistic Wellness. While we may not currently be gathering inside the studio walls, the heart of this community is still very much alive.

Behind the scenes, we have been planting seeds. Dreaming. Creating. Reimagining. And trusting that beautiful things can grow from seasons of change.

Growth does not always happen where everyone can see it. Sometimes the most meaningful seasons are the ones spent planting roots.

Thank you for continuing to support this little community through every evolution. Thank you for practicing with us, believing in us, and carrying the spirit of BlueMoon wherever you are.

Something beautiful is unfolding.
And we cannot wait to share it with you when the time is right!

Until then … get outside, soak in the sunshine, move your body, breathe deeply, nourish your spirit, and remember: your light was never meant to be dimmed.

Feel free to share a photo of how your spending the Summer Solstice in the comments… we’d love to be a part of your day!!

Today, we honor the nurturers.
The mommas, grandmas, stepmothers, adoptive mothers, fathers carrying both roles, caregivers, mentors, and the women who mother through presence, compassion, and love.

We also hold space for those carrying grief today, those missing their mommas, longing to become one, navigating strained relationships, or mothering babies no longer earthside. This day can hold both joy and tenderness.

Mother’s Day was first established in 1908 by Anna Jarvis as a way to honor the quiet sacrifices mothers make every day. Her vision was never about perfection or performance, but remembrance, gratitude, and sincere love.

May today be less about doing and more about receiving.
Less about expectations and more about presence.
A soft reminder that nurturing others begins with extending gentleness toward ourselves, too.

With love,
Meagan 🤍
