Celebrating Our August Work Anniversaries! 🎉

This month, we’re proud to recognize the dedicated team members celebrating work anniversaries at Enos Home Medical. Every milestone represents years of caring for patients, supporting coworkers, and helping strengthen the family-owned culture that has defined Enos for more than 75 years.

A special congratulations goes to Dennis Avellar, who is celebrating an incredible 39 years with Enos. Nearly four decades of dedication is an extraordinary accomplishment, and we’re grateful for everything Dennis has contributed over the years.

We’re also celebrating Thomas Boudreau‘s 9-year anniversary. While this marks nine years in his current chapter with Enos, many know this is actually Tom’s second run with the company, making his overall connection to the Enos family even longer.

A Look Back… and a Thank You.

While going through some old files, we came across one of our brochures from the 1990s. As we looked through the photos, one thing immediately stood out.

Several of the employees featured in this brochure are still part of the Enos family today. That’s not something you see very often.

More than three decades later, they’re still caring for patients with the same compassion, professionalism, and commitment that helped build this company. Their loyalty and dedication have helped shape who we are, and we’re incredibly grateful they’re still writing the next chapters of our story.

The brochure itself is also a reminder of just how much has changed over the past 75+ years.

Back then, our service area covered a relatively small corner of Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Today, Enos Home Medical proudly serves patients throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and southern New Hampshire. Through our affiliate, BreastPumps.com, we’re also able to support families in all 50 states.

Our fleet has grown from just six delivery trucks to more than 40 vehicles on the road each day. Along the way, we’ve expanded from a company known primarily for oxygen and respiratory care into a full-service home medical provider, offering sleep therapy, diabetes management, hospice support, home accessibility solutions, breast pumps, and a full range of home medical equipment and supplies.

As we’ve grown, so has our team. What started as a small group of dedicated employees has grown into a company of more than 100 people, all working toward the same goal: helping patients receive the care they need in the comfort of home.

The map has grown. The fleet has grown. Our services have grown. Our team has grown.

But our values haven’t changed.

For more than 75 years, we’ve remained family owned, patient focused, and committed to earning the trust of every patient and family we have the privilege to serve.

To every employee—past and present—every referral partner, every healthcare provider, and every patient who has been part of our journey, thank you.

Every generation starts in the same place.

For more than 75 years, Enos Home Medical has been built one generation at a time.

As we look toward the future, it’s rewarding to see members of the fourth generation beginning the same way those before them did—not at the top, but from the ground up.

That means spending time in the warehouse, riding along on deliveries, supporting our sales team, attending industry events, and becoming involved in the communities we proudly serve. Every experience is another opportunity to learn.

One thing we’ve always believed is that this business can’t be learned from behind a desk. It has to be experienced firsthand, alongside the people who make it happen every day.

We’re fortunate to have employees who are willing to teach, mentor, and share the knowledge they’ve built over decades. Their experience has shaped our company, and they’re helping shape the generations that follow.

That commitment to hard work, humility, service, and community has defined Enos Home Medical since 1950—and we hope it always will.

A Piece of New Bedford History

Long before home medical equipment became a standard part of healthcare, one local police officer saw the potential to bring lifesaving oxygen directly into people’s homes.

We are proud to congratulate Richard “Jay” Enos, former owner of Enos Home Medical, on being named the Bourne Council on Aging’s Senior Volunteer of the Year.

For generations, Jay has dedicated his life to caring for others. From his years as a nurse, to leading Enos Home Medical, and now through nearly a decade of volunteering as a SHINE counselor helping seniors navigate Medicare, his commitment to serving our community has never wavered.

The values that helped shape Enos Home Medical—compassion, integrity, and putting people first—continue to be reflected in Jay’s work today. His willingness to give his time, knowledge, and heart to others is an inspiration to all of us.
