Yesterday, Community Resources Supervisor Jessica Kopecky-Lanausse joined the 3rd Annual We Care Community Health Fair, hosted by New Bedford Community Health, to talk with families and older adults about Coastline's services.

Caregiving doesn't have an age limit. We spoke with people of all ages who are caring for a loved one and shared how our Family Caregiver Program can help. Thank you to New Bedford Community Health for bringing together so many organizations from across our South Coast communities in one place.

If you or someone you know is caring for an older adult, we're here. Reach out anytime at 508-999-6400 or via our website at www.coastlinenb.org.

Thanks to Eversource’s Community Impact Grant, Coastline received $1,500 to benefit our older adult consumers through the Emergency Assistance Grant program. This program helps to meet older adult’s urgent material needs, such as air conditioners, walkers, moving assistance, and supplemental nutritional assistance; all of which help maintain grant recipients’ ability to maintain their ability to age at home, in their community, with dignity and access to basic needs.

Coastline Technology Programs – Final Classes Are Here!

Thanks to funding from the Massachusetts Broadband Institute's Digital Equity Program, Coastline has spent the past two years helping older adults bridge the digital divide through free technology training, digital literacy education, and iPads for eligible participants. Through this initiative, hundreds of older adults have gained the skills and confidence to connect with family, access healthcare, manage finances, and navigate today's digital world safely.

As this program comes to a close this November, we're excited to offer our final Learn to Earn classes, Tech Cafés, and Graduation Celebration before wrapping up two incredible years of digital empowerment.

Summer cookouts are one of our favorite traditions, and Friday's gathering at Buttonwood Park Senior Center in New Bedford didn't disappoint. Grilling took place outside while more than 50 guests enjoyed hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hotdogs, and all the fixings together indoors.

The energy in the room said it all — great food, familiar faces, and easy conversation with friends and neighbors A big thank-you to our Nutrition team for preparing and serving the meal with their usual care and enthusiasm, and to the New Bedford Council on Aging team for hosting everyone.

Got a freezer full of good intentions? We've all thawed food on the counter in a pinch, but it's actually one of the easiest ways for bacteria to sneak in.

The good news? Staying safe doesn't have to be complicated. Check out our latest Nutrition Newsletter for three easy, safe ways to defrost food at home.
