Sunday Morning Inspiration ☀️

Some weeks leave us feeling strong. Others leave us weary, worried, or carrying burdens no one else can see. Whatever this week has brought, Sunday reminds us that we do not have to carry it alone.

God’s mercies are new this morning. His grace is still sufficient. His presence is still near—and His love remains steady through every season of life.

“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 KJV

May your Sunday bring rest to your heart, peace to your mind, and renewed hope for the week ahead.

Those closest to Kevin say much of his personality could be summed up in one phrase: “he went above and beyond.” Whether it was for his wife and children, another family member, a friend, or someone he worked alongside, Kevin wanted the people in his life to be safe, protected, and cared for. He took that responsibility personally.

Kevin was born on August 7th, 1958 and passed away on August 28th, 2026 at the age of 68

Mary made homemade biscuits just the way everyone liked them. When she made icing, she would make extra so the grandchildren could take some home. Those may seem like little things, but Mary's family knew better. They were her way of saying, “I love you. I thought about you. I want you to have something that makes you happy.”

Mary was born on March 21st, 1943 and passed away on August 27th, 2026 at the age of 83

Frances was a pillar of strength and love for her family. Married for 71 years to her beloved husband Jim, she was, in his words, "exactly what he needed to advance throughout life." Her devotion to her family was unwavering, and her love for them was the driving force of her existence. Jim states the song Unforgettable is about his love for Frances “Unforgettable, that's what you are, Unforgettable in every way, and forever more, that's how you'll stay, that's why, darling, it's incredible, that someone so unforgettable, thinks that I am unforgettable too.”

Frances was born on May 16th, 1934 and passed away on August 22nd, 2026 at the age of 92

A new week is more than a return to our routines—it is another opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

We can love the people around us a little more deeply, serve someone without expecting anything in return, and be intentional about the life we are living. Often, the smallest gestures—a kind word, a patient response, a thoughtful phone call—become the moments others remember most.

May we begin this Monday with grateful hearts and a renewed commitment to love deeply, serve kindly, and live meaningfully.

From our family at Bennett Funeral & Cremation Care, we hope you have a peaceful and blessed week. 💙

Nancy was born on May 28th, 1962 and passed away on August 20th, 2026 at the age of 64

Calvin proudly served his country as a Third Class Naval Corpsman stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, from 1960 to 1964. He later earned his degree from Craven Community College and built a long and hard working career before retiring. Throughout the years, Calvin held many roles, including store owner and operator, chemical operator, shift foreman, bridge tender, licensed real estate agent, and insurance agent and broker. One memorable chapter of Calvin’s life was owning and operating the Old Country Store on Highway 17 North alongside his wife, Alice. Together, they enjoyed serving their customers, getting to know members of their community, and building relationships with the many people who came through their doors.

Calvin was born on January 15th, 1943 and passed away on August 17th, 2026 at the age of 83
