💙 The Power of Modeling AAC 💙

One of the best ways to teach AAC is to use it yourself!

Just like children learn spoken language by listening to others talk, AAC users learn by seeing others model communication on their device or communication board. This is called AAC modeling or Aided Language Stimulation, and it's one of the most effective ways to support language development.

✨ Keep it simple.
✨ Model throughout your day.
✨ Focus on a few key words.
✨ Give plenty of wait time.
✨ Remember: there's no pressure to repeat. Learning comes from seeing communication in action.

Every time you model AAC, you're showing someone that their communication matters. Those small, consistent moments add up to meaningful growth, stronger connections, and greater confidence.
