When Everything Begins Coming Together

Over time, many clients begin noticing that improvements last longer.

Movement feels easier.
Recovery becomes quicker.

Daily activities often become easier and require less effort.
Your nervous system becomes less reactive.

The changes begin integrating into everyday life instead of remaining something you only notice after a session.

This is where consistency becomes so important.

Your body continues building healthier movement patterns with every layer it releases.
Progress becomes the result of cumulative change.

Your body has an incredible capacity to heal.
Give it another opportunity to do what it was created to do.

I am here to help you.

Healing often unfolds in layers.

Some clients can describe the process as taking two steps forward and one step back.

Some weeks you feel remarkable.

Other weeks familiar symptoms become more noticeable.

Then another shift occurs.

As one restriction releases, another deeper pattern often becomes noticeable.

A helpful question during these moments is:

“What is my body showing me now?”

Every phase offers new information.

Remain curious.

Every layer your body releases creates space for the next. Consistent treatment allows that process to continue with greater ease and lasting change.

Hi, I am Ryan Lathe, Founder of Nostos Myofascial Release, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Advanced John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Practitioner.

I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2012 and have dedicated my career to helping people navigate chronic pain, tension, prenatal and pediatric care, injury recovery, nervous system stress, and fascial restrictions.

My work is rooted in the John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach®, a specialized form of hands-on therapy that uses sustained gentle pressure to address restrictions within the fascial system.

Every session is intuitively guided by your body’s response and informed by the knowledge, clinical experience, and complementary disciplines I have integrated throughout my career, creating space for greater mobility, comfort, balance, and ease.

I work with individuals experiencing TMJ dysfunction, headaches, migraines, neck and back pain, sciatica, post-surgical restrictions, prenatal and postpartum changes, athletic injuries, and persistent patterns of restriction.

In 2017, I founded a private massage practice in New Braunfels, Texas. In 2024, I renamed the practice Nostos Myofascial Release, a name that reflects the work I have devoted my career to and the approach that now defines my practice.

Inspired by the ancient Greek concept of the journey home after a long voyage, Nostos honors survival, resilience, and the wisdom gathered along the way. Those same values shape my practice and my commitment to creating a space where the body can soften its guard, reconnect with its inherent capacity for healing, and move toward greater freedom.

If you are ready to experience the John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach®, I invite you to schedule a session.

Understanding Changes After Treatment

As your body begins releasing long-held restrictions, symptoms sometimes change before they improve.

You may experience:

• Greater ease and comfort.

• Mild soreness.

• Fatigue.

• Emotional release.

• A temporary increase in symptoms.

These changes often reflect your body’s adaptation to treatment.

When long-standing fascial restrictions begin changing, your body is adjusting to a new state.

Pay attention.

Rest when your body asks for it.

Stay well hydrated.

Move gently.

Most importantly, notice what your body is communicating with curiosity and attention.

Every session creates an opportunity for your body to release another layer of restriction and restore healthier movement.

A simple leg pull often looks uneventful from the outside.

Inside the body, it is a very different experience.

This technique is designed to engage the fascial system through sustained, attentive contact rather than force. As the tissue begins to respond, tension can travel through the continuous fascial network that connects the feet, legs, pelvis, spine, rib cage, shoulders, and neck.

That is why changes often occur far beyond the point of contact.

Clients frequently notice greater ease in walking, standing, turning their head, or taking a full breath after work that began at the foot.

The body functions as one connected system. When restrictions begin to release in one area, the effects often extend throughout the rest of the body.

The work is slow.
The pressure is gentle.
The response comes from giving the tissue the time it needs to adapt.

Every session is guided by what your body presents in that moment rather than a routine or protocol.

If pain, stiffness, or restricted movement has continued to limit your daily life, Myofascial Release offers an opportunity to address the fascial system with the time and attention it deserves.

I can help you.

The First Phase of Healing

The beginning of treatment centers on learning how to listen to your body.

Many of us spend years ignoring discomfort, working around pain, or pushing through physical limitations.

Myofascial Release invites a different experience.

You begin noticing where your body protects itself.

You begin recognizing patterns that have become automatic.

You begin feeling restrictions that have been present for so long they became familiar.

Just as importantly, you begin noticing what it feels like as those restrictions soften.

This growing awareness is one of the most valuable parts of treatment because it teaches you to trust your body’s own feedback.

Healing begins with awareness and continues through consistency.

Every session builds upon the last, allowing your body to release deeper restrictions, restore healthier movement, and integrate lasting change.

I can help you.

Healing Often Feels Different Than Expected

Every body responds to Myofascial Release differently.

Some people leave a session feeling lighter, looser, and more comfortable.

Others notice soreness, fatigue, emotional release, vivid dreams, or symptoms that shift before they settle.

Each of these experiences may be part of the body’s natural process of adapting to change.

Our goal extends beyond reducing symptoms.

The goal is restoring movement where the body has been protecting itself, often for years.

As those restrictions begin to release, your nervous system and connective tissue begin reorganizing.

That process is unique for every person.

Your body already knows the way, adapting through repetition, consistency, and time.

Every session builds upon the last.

If you are looking for authentic therapy, I can help you.

Myofascial Release gives me a way to work with the physical body, its restrictions, patterns of tension, movement, and the places that ask for sustained attention.

Alongside that work, I incorporate practices influenced by ancestral traditions: prayer, sound, smoke, feathers, crystals, intention, and an awareness of the energetic field surrounding the body.

These practices have ancient roots across many cultures, where healing has included relationship with the physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual aspects of being human.

I approach this part of my work with reverence.
Prayer and intuition are woven quietly throughout the session.

Different natural elements are used as tools for energetic clearing and movement.
Palo santo may be used to prepare the space.
Tuning forks allow me to work intentionally with sound and the Biofield.

I study fascia, anatomy, mechanobiology, and the nervous system while also honoring the parts of healing that have been understood through spiritual traditions for thousands of years.

My practice continues to evolve toward the place where those worlds meet.

If you are seeking an approach to MFR that honors both the physical body while integrating the spiritual and energetic dimensions of healing, I welcome you to experience Nostos Myofascial Release.

A practitioner is only as effective as their ability to listen.

Sometimes I listen with my hands.
Sometimes I listen through frequency.

Some tools are supported by modern research, while others have been carried forward through generations of cultural tradition. I have always felt the need to integrate the two.

The tuning forks, Myofascial Release, botanicals, feathers, crystals, and smoke each have a purpose. Together they create an experience that honors both measurable physiology and the human need for meaning, stillness, and intention.

Every session begins by listening.
Everything that follows is guided by what I find.

The tools may differ from practitioner to practitioner, but the intention remains the same: to create the conditions where the body can settle, communicate clearly, and respond according to its own innate intelligence.

Your body has been communicating with you all along.

If you are ready to listen in a different way, I invite you to experience a session at Nostos Myofascial Release.
