Kindred Rivers at a glance…

Behind Kindred Rivers is a family with a whole lot of love, a little bit of chaos, and a big heart for helping other families!

I’m a mom first, a wife, and a speech-language pathologist who took a leap of faith to build something of my own. My husband is also part owner! He’s a former public school teacher who now works for a nonprofit youth organization, so supporting kids and families is something we’re both passionate about. 🫶

We’re raising two little boys, juggling busy schedules, and embracing the fun, crazy life that comes with it all. 🤪

Family comes first in our home, and we believe it should in our business, too.

We created Kindred Rivers to meet families where they’re at, celebrate the little wins, and provide speech therapy that fits into real family life.

BIG NEWS for Kindred Rivers! 🥳🩵

We are SO excited to announce that Kindred Rivers Therapy Services is officially an approved TEFA provider! 🎉

In addition to our private-pay services, we are now accepting funds through Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA)!

We are incredibly proud and excited for this opportunity to make individualized speech therapy more accessible and serve even MORE children and families in our community! 🤍

✨ TEFA funds can be used for:
🏡 In-person speech therapy services
💻 Virtual speech therapy services
🏫 School-based speech therapy services (depending on the school’s policies and approval)

Our mission has always been to help little voices grow, build confidence, and support families every step of the way. We’re so excited that TEFA gives us another way to do just that! 🫶

I spent 7 years working as a school-based SLP, and there were so many times I wished I could tell a parent:

“Keep the school speech services… but I’d also consider adding private speech therapy.”

School-based speech therapy is an AMAZING resource and if your child qualifies for free services through their school, absolutely take advantage of them! 👏🏼

But the reality is, school SLPs often have large caseloads, limited therapy time, and students may be seen in groups. School-based services also focus on the skills a child needs to access and participate in their education.

And sometimes, a child just needs more.

More one-on-one practice.
More repetition.
More individualized attention.
More opportunities each week to work specifically on the skills that are hard for them.

That doesn’t mean school speech isn’t working. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

For some kids, school speech + private speech can be a really great team. 🤍

Take the free services. AND if your child needs more individualized support to make meaningful progress, it’s okay to add that too.

As an SLP who has now been on both sides, I see so much value in both.

So, who are you getting when you choose to work with me? 🤍

A toddler mom who gets that life with little ones can be equal parts sweet, chaotic, and exhausting.
A coffee lover.
Someone who would choose being outside on a beautiful day almost every time.
Someone who believes family comes first, always. And that carries into my work, too.

I believe parents know their children best. I believe therapy should feel supportive, collaborative, and personal. And I want you to know that when your child is on my caseload, I’m on your team.

Speech therapy doesn’t always look like “work”… and that’s the point! 🧸✨

Through play, we can work on speech sounds, build language, practice communication, and create opportunities for kids to use their skills in ways that feel natural and meaningful.

Because when kids are engaged, connected, and having fun, there are SO many opportunities for communication. 💛
