Small stitches, big impact.

Our NICU was recently wrapped in kindness thanks to the Knit Sew Good Works group from St. Josephine Bakhita Church in Rocky Hill. Their generous donation — including handmade afghans, cuddle cloths and tiny booties — brings warmth, comfort and connection to some of our smallest patients and their families.

Each piece is made with care and love, helping support bonding in the earliest moments of life. Thank you to these incredible volunteers for making such a meaningful difference, one stitch at a time.

The Family BirthPlace at The Hospital of Central Connecticut received an incredible gift — 1,008 books from the Mu chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma!

Colleagues from The Hospital of Central Connecticut proudly joined this year’s 40th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut, helping carry the Flame of Hope through communities across central Connecticut.

A beautiful day on the course turned into an incredible win for our patients and community, as a full field of golfers helped raise $145,000 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut Auxiliary at New Britain General’s 35th Annual Golf Tournament at Tunxis Country Club.

Celebrating a century of impact!

President Gina Coleman was honored to join family, friends and community leaders in celebrating Rhudean Raye’s 100th birthday and remarkable legacy of service.

A trailblazer, educator, nurse and mentor, Rhudean helped shape generations of lives through her dedication to learning, compassion and opportunity. During the celebration, Gina presented a proclamation recognizing Rhudean historic contributions as Meriden’s first African American teacher and her lifelong commitment to uplifting students through scholarship and mentorship.

Her influence continues to be felt across our community, and Hartford HealthCare is proud to honor her enduring legacy through the annual Rhudean Raye Scholarship.

Planted with purpose!

For the 11th year, the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at The Hospital of Central Connecticut partnered with the Petit Family Foundation to honor the memory of Michaela Petit through a special morning in the Healing Garden.

Together, volunteers planted flowers that will bring beauty, comfort and hope to patients, families and caregivers who spend time in this peaceful space. Through Michaela’s Garden Project, the Petit Family Foundation continues its mission of inspiring community service, supporting those affected by chronic illness and helping individuals impacted by violence.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this meaningful tradition possible!
