World Lung Cancer Day may have just passed on August 1st, but awareness, prevention, and early detection matter year-round. 🫁

Lung cancer can affect anyone—not only people who currently smoke. Knowing the warning signs, understanding your risk factors, and speaking with a healthcare provider about screening can make a difference.

Persistent coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain, coughing up blood, unexplained weight loss, or ongoing fatigue should not be ignored. Having these symptoms does not necessarily mean cancer, but new or lasting changes should be discussed with a medical professional.

Let’s continue sharing information, reducing stigma, and encouraging early action beyond World Lung Cancer Day.

June is PTSD Awareness Month and last Saturday, June 27th, was PTSD Awareness Day.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. While trauma affects everyone differently, healing is possible and no one has to face it alone.

PTSD may look like:

• Intrusive memories or flashbacks

• Nightmares or difficulty sleeping

• Avoiding reminders of trauma

• Feeling constantly on edge or easily startled

• Changes in mood, concentration, or relationships

The good news? PTSD is treatable. With the right support and resources, many people recover and live fulfilling lives.

This month, let’s work together to:

💚 Learn the facts

💚 Reduce stigma

💚 Support survivors with compassion

💚 Encourage those struggling to seek help
