People often think healing begins with finding the answer. Swipe Right to understand where the REAL answers come from.

What I learned during my experience at a medically supervised ayahuasca retreat in Costa Rica is that transformation rarely comes from one breakthrough moment alone. It comes from what happens after: the integration, the honesty, the boundaries, the slowing down and the decision to stop abandoning yourself in the process of success.

As a psychotherapist, executive clinical director and leadership advisor, I’ve spent years helping high-performing individuals navigate pressure, burnout, trauma and identity shifts. This experience challenged me personally and professionally to rethink how leaders approach inner work, emotional resilience and self-awareness.

These reflections became the foundation for my latest Rolling Stone Culture Council article exploring why more leaders are reconsidering how they heal, grow and lead.

This carousel captures some of the most powerful lessons I took away from the experience.

What does forensic social work look like when justice, healing, mental health, courts, child welfare, public defense, education, and advocacy all meet in one place?

Swipe left.

I’ll be in New Orleans, Louisiana, May 26–29, 2026, for the Forensic Social Work Alliance Annual Conference at the Sheraton New Orleans.

This year’s theme, “Preparing the Next Generation for Forensic Practice,” is powerful because the future of this field depends on how we train, collaborate, advocate, and lead across systems that directly impact people’s lives.

I’ll be sharing live updates, key takeaways, conference moments, and meaningful conversations from New Orleans as professionals come together to move forensic social work forward.

I’m also proud to keep this conversation going through my Rolling Stone Culture Council article, “SWAT Team Social Work Professionals: Leading with Purpose, Power & Practice.”

Big news from my heart: I’ve joined the Board of The Forensic Social Work Alliance (FSWA) (formerly NOFSW).

Forensic social work is about showing up where it’s hard—supporting people and families navigating courts, systems, and crisis with compassion, ethics, and advocacy. I’m so grateful to step into this role to help elevate the profession through media-centered advocacy, stronger standards, and training across the country.
