Robert Wood Johnson Medical School encompasses 20 basic science and clinical departments, and hosts centers and institutes including The Cardiovascular Institute, the Child Health Institute of New Jersey, the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine, the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute, and the Stem Cell Institute of New Jersey. The medical school maintains educational programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels on its campuses in New Brunswick and Piscataway, and provides continuing education courses for health care professionals and community education programs. Our faculty practice, Robert Wood Johnson Medical Group, is among the largest multispecialty physician practices in the state, with over 500 physicians in more than 200 subspecialty clinical programs, providing a full range of highly specialized services for children and adults. A father who hated to see his daughter and granddaughter suffer from asthma established a research fund to benefit asthma sufferers in future generations. The fund supports the work of a new research lab and its recent breakthrough of a new blood test to diagnose asthma at the Rutgers Child Health Institute of New Jersey.

To him, the White Coat is a symbol of the responsibility he is undertaking as a future doctor, and a deep honor to assume a role in which he can help and improve the lives of so many patients.
