RWJBarnabas Health and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Neurosurgeon Dr. Hai Sun, Chief of Neurosurgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH), was awarded a $2.9M research grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to support a groundbreaking epilepsy study to map the neural networks of the brain in order to improve pre-surgical mapping and planning for patients who seek surgery as a treatment option for seizures. They seek to determine a standardized approach for planning epilepsy surgery to improve surgical outcomes for patients whose seizures cannot be controlled with medication.

Our Advanced Heart Failure, Ventricular Assist Device (VAD), and Heart Transplant team hosted another successful VAD Camp, bringing together 23 patients and care partners for a day focused on education, connection, and support. We’re proud to foster a community where patients and caregivers can share experiences and learn from each other.

Thickened Heart Symposium: A Success!

Our 4th Annual Amyloidosis Symposium brought together experts, healthcare professionals, patients and industry partners to share insights and advances in diagnosing and treating cardiac amyloidosis and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).

Thanks to the generosity of our team members, we filled more than 200 backpacks with school supplies during our annual school supply drive sponsored by our Community Health Promotions Program, SALUD BRG and the Nursing Community Outreach Committee. These donations will help local students start the school year with the resources they need to learn and succeed.
