Meet Dr. Angela Herman
Director, Health Sciences Programs

🎓Education:
• DNP
• MS in Cardiopulmonary Nursing
• BSN

💚Service to WilmU:
• Joined Wilmington University as an Adjunct Professor in Nursing in 2002
• Taught Nursing Research while serving as Manager of the Cardiovascular Research Program at ChristianaCare
• Became Chair of the then Allied Health Program (now Health Sciences) in 2015

💙🩺 Why Nursing?
• At just 3 years old, after having her tonsils removed, Dr. Herman was inspired by the compassionate nurses who cared for her. She knew from that moment she wanted to help others and never looked back! Her nursing career began in Medical-Surgical Nursing at the Veterans Hospital and later expanded to Medical and Cardiac Intensive Care Nursing. Those experiences led her into a rewarding career in healthcare research. She loves sharing with students that healthcare offers countless career paths they may never have imagined. 🏥❤️

• Makes students a priority every day and encourages them to reach out with questions or concerns
• Is committed to helping students discover their passions and achieve their goals

• Native Delawarean who grew up in Harrington and has attended the Delaware State Fair every year of her life except one
• Enjoys singing and is a member of the Southern Delaware Chorale
• Loves spending time with family, especially her granddaughters 💕

• Both! She loves cookies but has also been loving peanut butter pretzels lately!
