Karen Lee (McMahon) Kuhn, 80, of Camby, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

She was born on June 28, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harold and Ida McMahon (née Colton).

In a public profession of her faith, she was baptized July 21, 1963, at Fell Lake Park, Northfield, Ohio. On July 30, 1966, she married the love of her life, Rod Kuhn, and they were blessed with 60 years of marriage. Across 19 moves covering many states, one move to Europe, and spanning many decades.

Karen served as a teacher and worship leader alongside her husband, Rod. Their shared ministry was woven through every part of their life together. She taught Sunday School, led Women’s Bible Study, played piano for mid-week services and to accompany her family or friends. Karen was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of the Nazarene from her baptism forward. Her most recent home being at Southport Church of the Nazarene for the past three years.

Karen will be remembered as a wonderful Bible teacher and scholar, not only to those in
her local church, but through nearly 20 years of teaching Biblical distance-learning courses to students around the world.

Jada “Bada” Mullins, 44, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Henry Community Hospital.

She was born on December 27, 1981, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, a daughter of Kent and Deronda S. (Phipps) Evens.

Jada was a 2000 graduate of Greencastle High School. Above all else, she devoted her life to her family. As a homemaker, she found great joy in raising her three boys and creating a loving home for them. She also enjoyed her work at CES–City Electric Supply in Mt. Comfort, where her hardworking nature was evident to those around her.

Some of Jada’s favorite moments were the simple ones she shared with the people she loved. She enjoyed crocheting and playing Minecraft with her boys. She also loved climbing onto the back of Bryan’s Harley and riding alongside her husband and forever companion. For several years, Jada and Bryan were members of the Community Servants Riding Club of New Castle.

Jada was loving, big-hearted, and fiercely devoted to those she cared about. Feisty, hardworking, and incredibly generous, she was always willing to help someone in need. She was also a straight shooter who spoke her mind, and with Jada, you never had to wonder where you stood. Beneath that spirited personality was a deeply caring heart and an unwavering love for her family.

Dannis D. Hollingsworth, 77, of Summitville, peacefully went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, August 5, 2026, at his home.

He was born on March 15, 1949, in Anderson, Indiana, a son of the late Rev. Terrence and Colleen (Musick) Hollingsworth.

Dannis was a 1967 graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School. He continued his education at Lincoln Technical Institute, where he earned degrees in automotive technology and management. On June 1, 1968, he married the love of his life, Karen Sue Etchison, and together they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.

A gifted mechanic with a natural ability to understand how things worked, Dannis spent much of his career at Stoops Freightliner in Anderson, where he served as a service writer. He later retired from American Woodmark. Even away from work, he could usually be found in his garage fixing something, building something, or finding a creative solution to a problem - mostly with “Duck Tape.”

Dannis was a man of many talents. He loved woodworking and especially enjoyed creating beautiful pieces on his lathe. His artistic gifts also extended to oil painting, and he had a deep appreciation for the arts. Music was another important part of his life, and he especially loved singing in church. As a young man, Dannis traveled with the original Gaither Trio, selling their merchandise and setting up concerts with Danny Gaither, who would become his lifelong friend.

David Jon Hiatt, 72, of Muncie, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the afternoon of Monday, August 3, 2026, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. His passing was unexpected due to medical complications. Even in death, Dave's generous spirit continued through the gift of organ donation, a final act of compassion that will bring hope and healing to others.

Dave was born on July 31, 1954, in Logansport, Indiana, to the late Glen Wilber Hiatt and Frances Marie (Wilson) Hiatt.

A 1972 graduate of Lewis Cass High School, Dave built a successful career spanning more than 25 years in banking and finance. He served as Vice President at Citizens National Bank in Tipton, Indiana, and later as Director of Finance for Cookson Hills Christian Ministries, a nonprofit organization in Kansas, Oklahoma. He was also the proud co-owner of Hiatt Realty.

On February 14, 1989, Dave married the love of his life, Sue Campbell. Together they built a marriage firmly rooted in faith, love, and family, sharing 37 wonderful years together. They raised their two sons while making countless memories traveling across the United States in their RV. Their adventures led them to Oklahoma for several years before family drew them back home to Indiana. The boys saw 42 states and together, Dave and Sue fulfilled a lifelong dream of visiting all 50 states.

Calvin Thomas “Tom” Rains Jr., 64, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Friday, July 31, 2026, at home.

He was born on May 27, 1962, in New Castle, Indiana, a son of the late Calvin Thomas “Tommy” Rains Sr. and Nora Lane (Jeffries) Mason.

Tom was a 1980 graduate of Blue River Valley Jr./Sr. High School. He had a lifelong love of history and was especially fascinated by the Civil War. A gifted woodworker and master craftsman, Tom took great pride in working with his hands and creating things that reflected his remarkable skill and attention to detail.

Music was also an important part of Tom’s life. He especially enjoyed the music of the 1970s and was a devoted Elvis fan. Tom loved shooting rifles and was proud to have won several awards for his marksmanship.

Tom will be remembered for his laid-back, easygoing nature. Although naturally quiet and introverted, he was genuinely friendly and had a way of striking up conversations wherever he went—especially while traveling on vacation. He was a man of faith who had been baptized in the church, and his generous heart often led him to give freely and help others whenever he could.

He was born on February 4, 1951, in New Castle, Indiana, a son of the late Lewis Russell and Clenna Marie (Kneidel) Caylor.

Steve was a graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, Illinois. Following graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, following in the footsteps of his father. He later earned a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University.

Steve possessed an enduring curiosity and a genuine thirst for knowledge. A lifelong learner with a wide variety of interests, he was always eager to understand how things worked, master a new skill, or take on another challenge.

Throughout his life, Steve enjoyed photography and was an accomplished athlete. He played semi-professional tennis and was also an avid golfer. His competitive spirit extended to shooting sports, which he especially enjoyed alongside his son, Brandon. Steve was a longtime member of the NRA and became a licensed Olympic shooting coach and trainer.

The many interests and experiences Steve shared with Brandon were made even more meaningful by the exceptionally close bond between father and son. For 17 beautiful days, Daisy Mae Campbell filled the hearts of her family with a lifetime of love. Daisy was born at home on July 6, 2026, to her adoring parents, Todd and Rachel Campbell. On July 23, 2026, following a sudden and unexpected illness, their precious baby girl left their loving arms and was carried into the arms of Jesus at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

From the moment Daisy entered the world, she brought indescribable happiness to her parents. She was a happy, peaceful baby who seemed perfect in every way. Todd and Rachel felt wonderfully spoiled by their first child and treasured every moment they were given to hold her, care for her, and marvel at the beautiful little girl God had entrusted to them.

Daisy’s earthly life was brief, but it was surrounded completely by love. She knew the comfort of her parents’ arms, the tenderness of their voices, and the joy she brought simply by being their daughter. Although her family’s hearts are broken by her absence, they find comfort in knowing that Daisy is safe with Jesus.

Mary Lou Elam, 78, of Muncie, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Signature Healthcare in Muncie.

She was born on November 27, 1947, in Eaton, Indiana, a daughter of the late Daniel Withers Jr. and Irene (Dick) Withers.

Mary was a 1966 graduate of Eaton High School. For more than 30 years, she was a dedicated employee of Radiology Associates in Muncie, where her dependability, kindness, and quiet nature made her a valued coworker and friend.

A woman of sincere Christian faith, Mary was a longtime member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Music held a special place in her heart, and she faithfully shared her gift as the church pianist for many years. Her music was not only something she loved, but also a meaningful way in which she served the Lord and her church family.

Mary was sweet, reserved, and unassuming on the surface, but those who knew her well were familiar with her wonderfully ornery streak. She was a quiet cut-up who could have those around her laughing before they knew what had happened. Her gentle spirit, subtle sense of humor, and warm personality made her easy to love. She also enjoyed listening to music and settling in to watch an episode of Perry Mason.

He was born on September 8, 1983, in New Castle, Indiana, a son of Randall Scott Shipley and Gail Lynn (Hoppes) Gross.

Justin was a graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. He was a hardworking and dependable man who spent many years in food service, including serving as manager of Rally’s in Franklin.

Throughout his life, Justin faced significant health challenges, including seizures and hearing difficulties. He met those challenges with remarkable courage and perseverance, refusing to allow them to take away his positive outlook or his determination to live life fully. Those who knew Justin will remember his pleasant personality, upbeat spirit, and the way he continued moving forward through every obstacle he encountered.

Justin enjoyed gaming, riding his moped, and spending time with his beloved guinea pig, Wally. The simple things in life brought him happiness, and his warm and cheerful nature made him easy to love.

Jerry Lee Lashley, 85, of Indianapolis, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Worthington Place in Camby.

He was born on August 21, 1940, in Washington, Indiana, a son of the late George William “Bill” and Ruth Levada (Evans) Lashley.

Jerry attended Washington High School. Around 1960, he and his family moved to Indianapolis, where he began working for RCA. He faithfully served the company for 29 years before retiring. On November 28, 1958, Jerry married the love of his life, Janice Sue Clark. Together, they built a life centered around their family and faith and were blessed with 52 years of marriage before her passing in 2010.

Jerry was a faithful, longtime member of Calvary Bible Wesleyan Church, where he served on the church board for many years. His love for the Lord was reflected in his deep concern for missions and his desire to help share the Gospel with others. He was especially proud to have been instrumental in building Lashley Bible Church in Western Kenya, a lasting testimony to his missions-minded heart and commitment to the work of God.

A hardworking and determined man, Jerry spent many years working at RCA while also farming. He later owned and operated a ServiceMaster franchise and continued working well into his 80s. Whether at the factory, on the farm, in his business, or serving through the church, Jerry approached his responsibilities with dedication and perseverance.
