There was a season when I truly wasn’t sure I would ever teach another yin yoga class.

Life has a way of changing us, and sometimes the paths we once walked no longer fit who we’re becoming. I spent a long time wondering if there was still a place for this kind of slow, restorative practice in my life.

Today, as I gathered with our first Neshama Breath & Rest class, my heart was full.

Neshama isn’t simply a yoga class—it’s a sacred invitation to Sabbath. A place to slow our breathing, quiet the constant noise, rest our weary bodies, and turn our hearts toward Christ. There is no striving here, no performance, no pressure to become anything more than who God created us to be.

Watching everyone settle into stillness reminded me how deeply this kind of rest is needed. We live in a world that celebrates busyness and productivity, yet so many of us are quietly carrying exhaustion, anxiety, and burdens we were never meant to bear alone.

Jesus’ invitation has always been the same:
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

What a gift it is to create a space where people can receive that invitation—not just with their minds, but with their whole bodies.

I’m incredibly grateful that the Lord opened this door again. I wasn’t certain I would ever teach this way again, but now I can’t imagine keeping this gift to myself.

Thank you to everyone who came, trusted the process, and made our first gathering so beautiful. My prayer is that Neshama continues to be a place where weary souls remember that every breath is a gift from God, and that true rest is found in His presence.

🤍 “Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.” — Genesis 2:7

Most common complaint in my office.

Understanding Interscapular Burning Pain 💡
That persistent ache or burning sensation between the spine and the shoulder blade is a common clinical presentation, heavily tied to the structures highlighted in the post.
The Nerve Pathway: The Dorsal Scapular Nerve arises from the brachial plexus (C5 nerve root), piercing the middle scalene muscle before coursing deep to the Levator Scapulae and the Rhomboids.
The Trigger: Chronic forward-head posture or repetitive overhead movements can overload the Rhomboid Major and Minor, leading to intense muscle tension.
The Result: This tension can entrap or irritate the dorsal scapular nerve, triggering localized burning pain and radiating discomfort around the medial border of the Scapula.
Effective management requires a comprehensive approach: addressing postural imbalances, stretching overworked elevators, and strengthening the thoracic extensors and lower trapezius to relieve nerve pressure.

Self-care isn't selfish; it's physiological! 🌿
Look at the incredible difference regular massage therapy makes on the human body. On the left, smooth, well-circulated, and relaxed muscle tissue. On the right, accumulated tension and tight fibers.
Routine bodywork helps restore mobility, reduce chronic pain, and keep you moving freely. Make wellness a habit, not a reward!

Formulating with intention today 🌿

Working on a custom botanical cough syrup for a little one with a dry, croupy cough layered with asthma tendencies—focusing on soothing irritated tissues, easing spasm, and supporting gentle breath.

This blend came together with marshmallow root, mullein, chamomile, plantain, a touch of licorice, and warming hints of ginger + cardamom… now beautifully rounded with rooibos for added softness and balance.

Every formula is different. Every body is different.

Small batch • handcrafted • prayerfully made 🤍
