Excited to announce that Daniel Kraft, PGY-4, won first place at NYC Metro Research Day this past Friday!! He presented scRNAseq and spatial transcriptomic data revealing an association between activated/stress-response T cells and pathologic response to neoadjuvant chemo/immunotherapy. This work was supported by the Glenn August Surgeon Scientist Endowment.

Peter Cooke, PGY-3, also gave a strong presentation on ctDNA kinetics and changes in PET-CT imaging parameters as predictors of pathologic response to neoadjuvant immunotherapy.

Dr. Scott Roof was the faculty mentor on both projects, congratulations to all involved!!

Dr. Iloreta spoke on a Surgical Innovation panel here at Sinai, sharing the story behind his startup medical device and how the unique environment of Mount Sinai BioDesign fosters creativity and turns bold ideas into reality - ideas often starting from the insight of medical students and residents!
