Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three round cake pans (8-inch, 6-inch, 4-inch).
Prepare dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cream butter and sugar: Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
Combine: Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, mixing until smooth.
Bake: Divide batter evenly among pans. Bake 22–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely.
Prepare buttercream: Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, then vanilla and cream until smooth and fluffy.
Assemble layers: Stack the cake layers with buttercream between each layer to form a classic round cake.
Crumb coat: Apply a thin layer of buttercream and chill for 20 minutes.
Final coating: Cover the cake smoothly with white fondant or buttercream, creating a clean, fabric-like finish.
Decorate (Chef Coat Style):
Add vertical seam lines using fondant or piping.
Place edible black buttons on one side to mimic a chef’s jacket.
Create a subtle collar-like detail around the top edge.
Decorate one side with small edible kitchen tools and herbs.
Presentation: Place on a clean cake board with a modern culinary-themed background.
