We celebrated a spectacular ERA ! The unforgettable Disco Era of the 1970s! 🪩🕺💃 🪩

Through our TDICE (Therapeutic Dance Improving Cognition and Emotion) program, we traveled back in time to relive special memories from one of the most influential decades in music and culture. Revisiting meaningful moments helps stimulate memory, strengthen emotional well being, and support cognitive health.

Thank you to all the participants at the South End Wellness Center for joining us in your amazing 70s-inspired outfits. Your enthusiasm, energy, and joy made this celebration truly unforgettable.

At The International Symposium on Embodied Cognition at the Yale School of Medicine, through the Brain Peace Sciences Foundation, we had the honor of recognizing Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam for his commitment to older adults and his support of TDICE.

We presented evidence showing how Latin music and structured movement, through TDICE, activate neuroplasticity, engage cognitive and emotional networks, and produce measurable improvements in cognition, mood, and quality of life in older adults, including those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

This is not just intervention… it is science driven transformation.

Through Brain Peace Sciences Foundation, we reaffirm that when science and art converge, they do not simply support aging… they redefine it.

The International Symposium on Embodied Cognition
Hosted by the Yale Center for Brain and Mind Health
represents an important milestone where science, art, and humanity come together to advance the understanding of brain health and aging.

This year, our Executive President, Freddy Ramírez, will be presenting in the panel:
Movement & Aging: Global Perspectives on Cognitive Vitality

He will be sharing research alongside Dr. Luke, presenting an innovative study that is helping reshape the way we understand the human brain.

We have demonstrated something powerful:
music and movement are not optional… they are a biological, emotional, and cognitive necessity.

We have confirmed something even deeper:
Latin music, rhythm, and dance have the power to activate memory, restore emotion, and transform the lives of patients living with Alzheimer’s and dementia in communities such as Hartford and New Haven.

What began as a vision is now supported by evidence, real impact, and living hope.

It is also an honor to share this space with the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, alongside Dr. Félix Cortés, Dr. Ana Gradakos of the Ibero-American Alzheimer’s Association, and more than 30 international leaders who are redefining the future of health, science, and humanity.

This is not just a symposium.
It is a global statement.

It is the recognition that movement is life.
That music is medicine.
And that science, when united with art, can expand what we once believed was possible.
