Yale researchers are looking for healthy, African American men and women between the age of 18-55 to participate in a brain imaging study. This study examines genetic changes important in pain and op**te addiction. Background: Research suggests there is genetic change that plays a unique role among people of African descent. As part of this, persons carrying this genetic change could have differen

ces in the brain that might increase the need for higher doses of opioids in the treatment of either pain or op**te use disorder. Being able to confirm these differences will help current efforts aiming to personalize medicine in African Americans and decrease health disparities.
