"I am going through a trial with Dr. (Patricia) LoRusso, and the staff in the Early Phase Clinical Trials Program is excellent!!! Including Dr. LoRusso, her staff is always smiling, asking what they can do for you, and always checking in on you! I can't say enough about them, Dr. LoRusso, or Carrie her assistant—they are excellent. They spend time to answer your questions and make sure you are comfortable with their answers."

Each and every comment submitted by our patients is read by our Quality and Patient Safety team. The full patient experience is critically important to us, and we love to hear how our staff earns your trust and exhibits consideration to those in our care from arrival to departure.

“We are seeing a clear uptick in colore**al cancer in younger generations,” says Dr. Haddon Pantel.

Colore**al cancer has quietly become the leading cause of cancer deaths in Americans under 50. This is more than a temporary trend, according to Dr. Vikram Reddy, and people are again reminded to get to know their family health history and pay attention to any changes in health, from a change in bowel habits and re**al bleeding to abdominal pain and unexplained weight loss at any age.

Last week, we welcomed representatives from the offices of Senator Chris Murphy, Senator Richard Blumenthal, and Rep. Rosa DeLauro.

Members of our leadership team including Tracy Battaglia, MD, MPH, associate director of community outreach and engagement; Toby Bressler, PhD, RN, vice president for patient services; and Anne Chiang, MD, PhD, interim chief of medical oncology and hematology and associate director of clinical initiatives, shared an inside look at our work, touring the lab of Dr. Harriet Kluger and our clinical space on Smilow’s 8th floor, including the apheresis and infusion areas.

They also learned more about Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital’s research priorities and our ongoing community engagement efforts.
Thank you for visiting and for your interest in advancing cancer research, care, and community engagement!
