McClam Funeral Home McClam Funeral Home has been operating since April 2000 with the first location in New Britain, CT. We relocated to the City of New Haven in August 2001.

The Lord have given us a gift of caring, compassion and warmth. As children at the tender age of 7 we knew then that our lives would be for the services of God and his people. We always knew that we would be in the Funeral Service field. When someone looses a loved one the first thing that they need is someone they can trust. Our beloved Kameka "Rump" Garner departed this life on October 14, 2026.

Kameka was born on November 23, 1978, to the late Roscoe and Earline Garner. She was their precious bundle of joy and brought happiness to all who knew her. She attended schools in New Haven, Connecticut, and graduated from Cross High School.

Kameka loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for family and friends. She worked for many years at Saint Raphael Hospital before joining First Student Bus Company as a bus monitor, a position she truly enjoyed and took great pride in.

Kameka had a special gift for bringing people together. She loved cooking and planning parties for her children and nephews, making every birthday, holiday, and special occasion memorable. Whether through a home-cooked meal, words of encouragement, or simply her presence, she made everyone she encountered feel loved and appreciated. She was a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and a source of strength for many. Even as her health declined, Kameka continued to do all she could for those she loved.

Amelia Aleman was born on September 20, 1979, and passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 47. She was a loving mother of four, a proud grandmother affectionately known as “Yia Yia,” and a writer who dreamed of sharing her life story with her family.

Amelia attended Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School (Co-Op) and earned her associate degree in 2011. Throughout her life, she worked in food service, trucking, and as a Lead Residential Assistant at Marrakesh, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She was also a licensed CDL driver and certified scuba diver.

She loved spending time with family, smiling, dancing, coloring, reading, and writing. Above all, she wanted her children and grandchildren to know her story, her love, and the woman she was beyond being a mother.

Cheryl Antoinette Reddick, born in Hartford CT on December 5, 1962. Departed this life unexpectedly on July 25, 2026 in Orange County, Florida.

Cheryl affectionately known as Teddy or Teddy Bear to close family members and friends was the youngest of three children born to the late Denver Reddick and Dora B. Reddick.

Teddy graduated from Southern state University with a double major in Criminal Justice and Economics. After graduating she continued to excel in the workforce. Exploring life in her field she decided to relocate to Orlando, Florida. Where she remained until settling down into her new home. Cheryl continued to use what she learned in her studies to remain consistently, gainfully employed. She worked as an ESSI, Social Worker in processing for the State Of Florida. Where she maintained her position for over 20 years before retiring.

She enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends; Cheryl’s smile lit up the room whenever she arrived. She was always the life of the party with a loving nurturing heart. Her love was affectionately contagious and she would always show up if you needed her. She will always be loved and missed.

Deborah Johnson was born on August 9, 1958 in New Haven, CT to the late Willie Sr. and Bernetha Johnson. She graduated from Celentano School in New Haven. She was employed at Goodwill. She enjoyed working with people and spending time with family and friends, but her greatest joy was going to church.

She leaves to cherish in her memory, her sister, Cathy Rogers, a brother, Freddie Johnson, and dedicated aunt, Mary Nelson, of New Haven, CT, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was predeceased by her parents, a sister Bertha Williamson,and three brothers, Willie Johnson, Jr., Robert Lee Johnson, and Sherman Johnson.

In loving memory of Terrance Lavar Edwards, who passed away on October 16, 2026. Born on December 17, 1980, in New Haven, CT, Terrance's life was a testament to kindness and joy. He was the beloved son of Gwen Edwards and James King and grew up surrounded by a loving family and community in New Haven.

Terrance's journey through life was marked by perseverance and dedication. After attending Wilbur Cross High School, he made the determined decision to earn his GED, an achievement that spoke volumes of his resolve. In 2002, he furthered his education at Branford Hall Career Institute, pursuing a career as a Medical Assistant, which highlighted his passion for helping others.

Professionally, Terrance found fulfillment working in the inventory department at Bozzuto’s in North Haven. His dedication and work ethic were admired by colleagues and friends.

Terrance was a man whose presence could light up any room. Known for his infectious laughter and sense of humor, he had an unparalleled ability to bring smiles to everyone around him. He possessed a heart of gold and was always ready to lend a helping hand, often without expecting anything in return. His genuine nature and kindness made everyone feel welcome, loved, and important.

Born December 16, 1938, in McGehee, Arkansas, Melody's life was a living testament to unwavering strength, grace, and selfless service. Melody was a cherished wife, the devoted mother of eight cherished children, and a guiding light whose influence will echo through generations.

Melody is survived by her siblings, including her elder sister, Clara Rayford of McGehee Arkansas, and her brother, Melvin Alexander of Chicago, Illinois, who carry forward the family's love and values.

The love story of Melody and the late James Albert Brantley Sr., a proud man from Pickens, Arkansas, was a true testament to enduring devotion and partnership. Eddie Daniels was born in Pitt County North Carolina on November 27,1930 to the late Mamie Mills-Daniels and James W. Daniels. He was one of eleven children, enclosed with love and laughter. Eddie entered into eternal rest, surrounded by family on October 7, 2026, at the age of 95.

Eddie attended school at Haddocks Crossroads, and worked on the family farm. Eddie was instrumental in assisting with sustaining the wellbeing of the family until he became an adult. While in North Carolina, Eddie was blessed with three children.

At the age of 23, Eddie migrated to New Haven, Connecticut and began working for Nelke Motors Car Dealership which was located on Whalley Avenue at the time. After 50 plus years of service, he retired. Eddie met the love of his life, the late Predency (Boyd) Daniels. Eddie and Predency united in holy matrimony on November 11, 1962, and remained married for over 6 decades. From this union seven children were born. Eddie was no stranger to hard work, and made family his number one priority.

Eddie was an original and faithful member of St. Mary’s UFWB Church in New Haven, CT. He served 53 years, under the leadership of the Late Apostle Martha Green and Pastor Gershom Bey. He was a “Pillar”. Eddie served as the first Trustee, and Chairman of the Trustee Board until his retirement. Eddie was also a member of the Male Chorus, Senior Choir, and Home Mission.
