Alan Hayes is a Liscensed Professional Counselor as well as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Alan accepts referrals from ages 5 through the geratric population. Cindy Hayes is a Board Certified Social Worker,- Cind
y is also a Certified Anxiety Professional (CCATP). Cindy accepts referrals ages 7-11 and 18 through geriatric population. Both Alan and Cindy have over 40 yrs of experience serving the mental health needs in their community. The Hayes' provide counseling and therapy for individual, family and marital difficulties. They are experienced in working with problems of childhood, adolescence, parenthood, marital/family difficulties and life
difficulties in adulthood that may relate to disturbances in family relationships. Specific areas of counseling expertise include marital communication, stress management, depression, and anxiety,
grief/loss, death and dying, childhood developmental disorders, psychotherapy for adjustment disorders and crisis/trauma situations. Both utilize cognitive behavior treatment strategies to address depression, anxiety and other Axis I diagnoses. With regard to marital couples, and relationship counseling, the focus is upon direct logical consequences for behavior, taking responsibility for one’s actions, development of positive self-concept and problem
solving for positive change. Behavior management strategies, relaxation/stress management exercises, short-term goal setting are also utilized in assisting clients with therapeutic goals. These goals may include between session “homework” which is necessary for the client to get the most from the
therapeutic experience.
